Adding more information. He's still missing as of now.

Adams was last seen wearing a light blue shirt with khaki pants.

Mr. Adams was fueling his truck at the Kroger Fuel Station in Brazil, Indiana, shortly thereafter he was captured on a video cam turning
west from State Road 59 onto State Road 36, heading towards Rockville, Indiana. He has not been seen, nor heard from since. His family and friends are very worried as this is out of his character and he would not go missing of his own choice.

There is a short road just East of the last intersection where Mr. Adams was seen. The road leads straight down a boat ramp and into Raccoon Lake. I wonder if it's possible the cameras were mis-interpreted or Mr. Adams could have doubled back (lost) and wound up driving into the lake.

That's one way that both he and the truck could disappear and it's happened so many times before.

I'm replying to my own post here but I wanted to let everyone know that the local authorities have been notified of the possibility that Mr. Adams may have driven into Raccoon Lake or into a nearby pond. They took my information and I will pass along any information I get from them.

Well, that was fast. A DNR officer just called me back to thank me for the tip and to advise me that they are going to investigate other leads and information before starting a ground and water search.

I was able to emphasize the point that vehicles are a lot harder to hide than bodies are and that's why I would investigate large bodies of water first.

Your theory sounds plausible. I think they should look there right away. I wonder if Mr. Adams might have been somewhat impaired and disoriented? Or does not have good night vision? I am keeping my eye on this case.

I am very local to Raccoon Lake and I haven't heard a single word as of yet. I will tell you that if this becomes a Parke County investigation, it's not good news.

With all of the rain we had locally, Raccoon lake was incredibly flooded and they had just opened the ramps back up days before he disappeared. Here is there Facebook page. It has tons of pictures from the flooding. It hit an all-time record high this year.

    https://www.facebook.com/raccoonlake

If you're looking at maps, it's also called Cecil M. Harden Lake.

The lake would have been incredibly busy around that time. And it would have been pretty difficult to drive a truck down a ramp without being spotted by someone.

I don't think they'll do much searching of the lake until they drain it this fall.

But don't you have to turn off of 36 to access the boat ramp? (I am very familiar with the area and was just through there last weekend) Esp if heading west?
Six-year-old Shannon Sherrill disappeared from her front yard in Thorntown, Indiana in October, 1986. Someone knows where she is......

Yep, every ramp would require turning off of 36 or 59 and if he headed west from 59 towards Rockville, he would have had to turn back south on 500 E to wind up at the lake and would have had to cross 59 again. Or headed north on Seip Rd to again make the loop back to 59. Doesn't make much sense, when he could have just turned east on 36 and gone straight to the lake. It would have been incredibly difficult to accidentally drive into the lake via ramp.

I really hope he didn't turn north off 36 anywhere before Rockville. That will take you on some confusing roads and out in the middle of nowhere. There are also several slab roads that could have been pretty iffy to cross around that time and not all of them are marked.

There's not much around Rockville/Parke Co. that brings visitors. We have tons of covered bridges, the women's prison, and the lake.

I just realized that this gentleman has been missing for almost a month! yikes!

I'd be inclined to drive 36 and examine some of the drop-offs. Look UNDER the bridges. Some are pretty steep. So are the ones off of 41 south of Rockville if he headed toward Terre Haute.

We are assuming that the cameras were interpreted correctly and that our MP really was heading West. Also, (assuming the cameras were read rcorrectly) our MP could have made a U-Turn and doubled back East at any time.

When a person goes missing and their vehicle is missing too? The first thing I suspect is a large body of water. I agree that there are other places too. I've been in that part of the State many many times in my younger years.

I'm not sure where the cameras are around Bellmore. The Country Store and Reeder Trausch probably both have one. I wonder if they checked any of the security tapes in Rockville to see if he made it that far? There wouldn't be much in the way of security footage between Bellmore and the city limits of Rockville.

It struck me as odd that someone coming toward Rockville from Terre Haute would take 40/59 instead of 41 S. If he was heading to the lake or east of Rockville, 59 could make more sense. I wish they would release some new information. I'd be more than happy to go for a drive if someone said he was supposed to end up near Rockville, but sadly, we have no idea where he intended to go.

I don't think the one day of news coverage is likely helping his cause. He's driving a pretty common vehicle which wouldn't look out of place here at all. I'm not counting on our LE to do much in the way of investigating unless they are positive he's supposed to be in Parke Co. I'd be very interested to know what possible leads they are looking in to.
