NY - Gary Russo, 54,"2nd Avenue Subway Sinatra" 28 July 2015

    https://ca.news.yahoo.com/gary-russo...205517370.html

"A New York City construction worker who became famous for his lunchtime crooning near the 2nd Avenue subway stop has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Gary Russo, 54, rose to fame several years ago after he began singing near his job site on the Lower East Side in Manhattan. Russo, who earned the nickname 2nd Avenue Subway Sinatra, would set up a mic and sing for passersby in his construction uniform and hard hat."

"Lately, he has been renovating a houseboat and working on a host of creative projects, including a play about his life, said Apryl Nebozenko, a friend who performs with him.

But Russo seemed uncharacteristically down and drained at a gathering at her home on 12 July, she said, saying he “didn’t know how to focus his energy”.

Nebozenko said she urged him to read some inspirational books, and he seemed more upbeat when they spoke about a week later".

    Here's another article:

I wonder, how far was the car from the airport? And has it been verified that Gary purchased a ticket and whether the ticket was used?

    Come home safely soon Gary.

Wonder how far one could get on a 2 hundred dollar plane trip?
    From the link.rbbm.

" Russo apparently told a friend recently that things weren't going very well for him and that he wanted to jump on a plane, go to an island and never come back, ABC News station WABC-TV reported.

"It's not like Gary," family friend Apryl Nebozenko told WABC. "Gary has two daughters, he has a lot of friends and it doesn't make any sense. He has performances that are still coming up."

She added that the family found a $210 charge for a Delta flight, though it was unclear where the flight was to".

It would be nice if they verified he got on the plane. I can't help but wonder if the plane ticket was to throw people off track.

Gary's daughter Amber Russo, is pleading for help locating her Dad on f.b.
In a post she states that the Porter fee was related to her bag fee or something and thus, no longer a viable clue.

    imo.

This case just caught my eye. He does look and sound like Sinatra. I am curious to know what it was that "wasn't going well in life"? If he had elaborated on anything or something had changed recently? Did he have a past history of feeling depressed? I wonder if the car parked blocks away from place and a plane ticket was a deterrent to throw people off of his location. He really has a lot of talent and hate to see when someone is down and out. I hope he didn't hurt himself. (I don't want to sound negative or come across as being uncaring, etc). I just speak from experience of assessing people professionally and nothing ever surprises me. I have found even if people "never act like this before" per family or friends, we never truly know how a person feels inside of their mind bc it is so subjective. I hope my post makes sense, I am more of a lurker than a poster but wanted to add my thoughts. This is all my opinion only. I only hope he needed to clear his head and returns to his location to sing again. Come home soon.

Maybe Gary missed his old construction site, or even his " flirtation with fame" may have skewed his sense of self and unsettled him? imo.

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/trending/gary...city-1.3184834
"Russo seemed to capitalize on the internet fame. He gave a series of interviews in U.S. news outlets, and even in Germany and Japan. He co-wrote a book, Don't Die With Your Song Unsung, and announced an upcoming CD. He performed at the Blue Note jazz club in New York and at the starting line of the New York City marathon.

His construction-site shows stopped shortly after those performances, The Associated Press reported, because he was transferred to another site and the act didn't fit in there."

did he sy anything to his employer about leaving ? the second avenue project IIRC is a Union job, maybe he alerted some thru the union about feeling depressed or asking for time off ???
The greatest trick the Devil ever played was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Three candles that illume every darkness: truth, nature, knowledge.

"There, isn't this a beautiful piece of cloth!", exclaimed the swindlers, as they described the lovely design that didn't exist.
