Detroit police seek help finding missing woman who disappeared after date arranged on backpage.com

The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a missing woman who was last seen on August 14.

Cynthia Worthy, 23, was last seen at her home in the 3200 block of Cortland around 3:00 p.m.

Her sister says she was supposed to meet up with a man she met through the escort website backpage.com.

Unfortunately, she has been found deceased. RIP Cynthia and my sympathy to her family.

Detroit — The body of a woman found with fatal stab wounds Monday on the city’s west side has been identified as a 24-year-old who went missing last week, according to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.

A person is in custody in connection to the stabbing death of Cynthia Worthy.

Oak Park police said Detroit police made the arrest, but they have not yet released any more information on the person...

Two arrests have been made in connection with the death of a 24-year-old Detroit woman who went missing last week after heading on a date with a man she met on a social media escorting website.

The Oak Park Public Safety Department confirmed the arrests in the city on Thursday but did not release additional information, referring questions to Detroit police, who have been investigating Cynthia Worthy’s death...

Prosecutors said Jerome Moore met Cynthia Worthy on Backpage.com and stabbed her to death in August in his home on Dartmouth. Her family reported her missing when she didn't return from the date...
