    Keegan Waterman

    Amber Alert missing Alpena-area boy
[QUOTE]ALPENA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Michigan State Police have issued an AMBER Alert for a missing 3-year-old boy from the Alpena area.

State police say the suspect in the boy's disappearance is his mother, Christina Waterman. She may be driving him to Tennessee in her tan, 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe, which has the Tennessee plate U4758V.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

A height of 4'3" seems off for a 3 year old, IMO, and certainly doesn't match up with the picture provided of Keegan in his diaper.

The child is 4-feet-3-inches and weighs 55 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. Waterman is 5-feet-7-inches and weighs about 195 lbs. She has blonde hair and blue eyes.

The height as reported makes him in the 95th % for 7 year olds and the weight is 95th % for 5 1/2 year olds. Way huge!

Yeah, there's no way that's right. 43 inches, maybe - but not 4'3"!! And I would not put him at more than 35 lbs in that pic, and even that's probably too high.

I concur with others who believe the child's height to be incorrect. DH and I saw this story on Channel 4 (WDIV, Detroit) last evening and looked at each other when reporter said the missing 3-year-old is 4'3" tall. Even 43" seems tall for a child that age. When was the last time this child saw a pediatrician? Child's height and weight would be documented during a doctor visit.

Did the alert come out yesterday? It's very quiet for an amber alert. I think a lot of people do not take seriously AA' s where the parent is involved, assuming they will not hurt them but this is not always the case.

I first saw the report yesterday afternoon. Few details, even now, and I'm about who is reporting the mother and her son missing. No mention of the father. Do the parents live together? Other than possibly traveling a long distance, are mother and child in any danger?

Typically, mothers don't abduct their kids to harm them. They abduct their kids because they want them. My guess is this little one will be found safe and well-cared for, even if the mom is somehow not fit to be a parent in general.

That pic is about a 14 month old, IMHO, judging from the general appearance and lack of all his baby teeth.

The mother's vehicle has a Tennessee license plate. Does this mean that she lives in Tennessee, while the little boy lives in Michigan, perhaps with his father or other relatives? The only thing that makes sense right now is that mother doesn't have custody and absconded with the toddler without permission. I hope this is resolved quickly and safely.

yea he seems like a BIG kid but the mom is pretty large too and i can only imagine the dad probably is, i myself am 5"8 and sturdily built and i prefer men bigger than me.

my husband is 5"11 and 220ish and our son was 37 inches and 32 pounds at his 2 year appt a few months ago. he has a little less rollage than this child (in the chest and leg area) and he is 95% both wieght and height.
