Tiffany Knepper filed a missing person’s report and on Wednesday, Warren police issued an alert. They are looking for 18-year-old Alesha Bell.

She is 5-foot-1, 115 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing burgundy and black leggings, a flannel shirt and brown sandals.

And Wednesday night, her mother will spend another sleepless night worried about her child’s safety.

“I want her home now. Now,” Knepper said.

She said she last saw her daughter, Alesha, on Southwest Boulevard walking to her uncle’s house about 5 p.m. on July 23.

“‘Mom, if I make it home, I need you. I’m scared.’And that’s the last I heard from her,” Knepper said of a text message she received on Friday.

JEFFERSON, Ohio - Authorities say they have determined the identity of the person whose remains were found in a fire pit near an Ashtabula County home. However, investigators will not release the name of that person until Thursday.

The Ashtabula County Sheriff will hold a press conference at 10 a.m., to provide an update on the investigation into bones discovered during a drug raid at a home in the community of Roaming Rock Shores last month.

James E. Brooks, 40, of 1773 U.S. Route 6, Rome, who was recently indicted by a federal grand jury on weapons, and later, drug trafficking charges, was indicted on the county level on one third-degree felony count of tampering with evidence and five fifth-degree felony counts including gross abuse of a corpse, aggravated possession of drugs, possession of cocaine and heroin and possessing criminal tools...

Brooks is also a person-of-interest in the disappearance of 18-year-old Alesha Bell, of Warren, whose remains were discovered in a fire pit behind the home during the raid. Brooks has denied any involvement in her death.

His role in Bell's disappearance and death are still under investigation and Iarocci would not comment on it.

James E. Brooks, 41 (...) was arraigned today in Ashtabula County Common Pleas Court on new charges related to the death of Alesha Bell, 18, of Warren.

He entered a not-guilty plea, and bond was set at $500,000. He also is in jail on federal charges.

Two of the new charges are involuntary manslaughter and accuse him of causing Bell’s death while kidnapping her or abducting her. Other new charges are single counts of trafficking in persons, kidnapping and abduction.

A jury trial that had been planned to start Wednesday for James E. Brooks, charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a young Warren woman, has been reset to May 8...

Brooks was sentenced in federal court in Cleveland in August 2016 to more than 21 years in prison for federal drug and firearms crimes.

If convicted of the charges in Ashtabula County, he could get about 30 more years in prison.
