Judith Finnerty, the wife and mother of the victims, told police she heard a knock at the rear door of the apartment and was asked by an Asian male if she had drugs. She told him she had no drugs and closed the door.

Within moments there was a second knock at the door, and the same person this time pushed her out of the way and entered the apartment along with two others who apparently were carrying guns.

Judith Finnerty ran toward the street, but while fleeing, she heard four shots before reaching the street.

Upon returning she found her husband and daughter lying on the floor bleeding profusely.
