FL - Robert, 67, & Myriam Dienes, 56, murdered at their Tampa home, 20 Aug 2015
Florida investigators say that 21-year-old Florida State sophomore Nicole Nachtman shot her stepfather Robert Dienes dead in Tampa last Thursday and then lay in wait for her mom to come home. When Naval Reserve captain Myriam Dienes arrived, Nicole changed her mind and tried to flee out of a window but her mom spotted her, so she shot her dead too.
Nicole fled back to university and asked people to cover for her yet was unable to stop herself talking about what she'd done, and the 'screaming voices' she says made her do it, Hillsborough Sheriff's officials said in an affidavit released Monday. She has refused to speak to officers directly. A friend of Nachtman's said she was tormented and harassed at university.
Nicole has been charged with two counts of first degree murder. She is being held in the Orient Road Jail without bail.

According to the news report, Nachtman apparently killed her stepfather at least one day prior to killing her mother.
Nicole Nachtman would later tell people she had second thoughts when Myriam Dienes finally arrived after 9 p.m. Thursday, detectives said.
In the house, they later pried open a locked bedroom door to find the decaying body of Robert Dienes. He had been shot once in the neck.
She waited overnight for her mother, Myriam Dienes to return home, the report said.

Hmmm.....I live in Tampa and hadn't heard a word about this. That's strange.
Anyway......how tragic. She had hours to change her mind, and still essentially hunted and killed her own mother in her own house.....after killing stepdad......talk about premeditated!

I find the one remark by a "friend" that this young woman was harassed at school, odd. Could she be frankly mentally ill, hearing voices? Either she is, or She is setting that up for her defense. I wonder if there is any outside proof of her being harassed, emails, letters, witnesses? It could be all in her head."If you are lucky enough to find a way of life you love, you have to find the courage to live it."

From last month:
Hillsborough prosecutors said Tuesday they will seek the death penalty against a 21-year-old college student accused of killing her mother and stepfather earlier this year...
A captain in the Naval Reserve, Dienes had returned home from reserve duty that night when deputies said she was shot once in the neck and twice in her upper body. Inside the house, investigators found the decaying body of her 67-year-old husband, Robert Dienes, who had been shot once in the neck...
Nachtman's university ID badge showed she had not swiped into any buildings on the Tallahassee campus for seven days. It took little digging before more holes began to appear in her story...
