A police motorcycle officer who tried to stop a red Dodge SUV Friday in Kansas City, Missouri, didn't pursue when the vehicle (with dark-tinted windows) sped off. About a half hour later though, the officer spotted the car again, but this time, according to witnesses, the vehicle 'barreled towards the officer' and knocked him off his motorcycle. The officer opened fire.

After a police pursuit, two male suspects fled the vehicle and were located nearby. One was carrying two infants ( and is the father of one) who had been in the car and one infant was found to have a bullet wound in its toe.

Pierre Hill-Williams, 21, is charged with assault on law enforcement and child endangerment.
The officer has been placed on leave while the shooting is being investigated.
