CLINTON — Two squirrel hunters found a human skull early Sunday in a wooded area off McCoy Byrnes Road, a spokesman for East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Talmadge Bunch said.
Detective Don McKey said deputies will ask the LSU Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services Laboratory to examine the skull. He said Coroner Michael DeJohn confirmed the skull is that of a human.
The hunters found the skull in the general area where Roosevelt Mack, 89, disappeared from his Lane Road home on Jan. 21, 2001, but McKey said deputies were unable to find any other bones or evidence that would help determine if the skull is that of the missing man.

Another article saying he's been missing since 2001. Suppose the age difference is due to other reporters counting the age when he went missing and others the age he'd have been at the time of writing.

Roosevelt Mack has been missing since January of 2001.

He was an 83-year-old Alzheimer's patient.

I'm not having any luck trying to find confirmation or a ruling-out for this potential ID. I can't find Mr. Mack in http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi and I couldn't find the skull discovery listed as an UID in Namus or DN either.

The vacant house where the body was found was once the home of Roosevelt Mack, 84, who vanished in January 2001. Despite extensive searches in the area off McCoy-Byrnes Road, Mack was never found.

Hunters found a skull in November 2007 in a wooded area off McCoy-Byrnes in November 2007, but deputies were unable to determine if it was that of Mack.

No other bones or evidence were found.

I've looked as best I can and have not found anything that confirms if the skull belonged to RM or not. Anyone really good at researching on the internet?
