Canada - Doris Tremblay, 71, Montreal, QC, 6 Sept 2015

    Doris Hallé Tremblay

Police seek woman, 71, missing from Ste. Julie
"Police are asking for the public’s helping in finding a 71-year-old woman who has been missing from the South Shore since Sunday morning.

Doris Hallé Tremblay left her home in Ste. Julie, in the Monteregie, with her car, without having touched the breakfast that her husband had prepared for her before leaving home.

Police are calling the disappearance very strange."

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

    SQ divers searching Richelieu river.

Officers with the Richelieu-St. Laurent police force say a GPS signal from the woman's 2015 Nissan Sentra stopped Sunday night, leading police to believe Tremblay drove down a boat ramp into the water. (While confused)

Reluctantly - Police have appealed to owners of agricultural land located between the towns of Saint-Amable and Contrecoeur, between the St. Lawrence and Richelieu River in Montérégie, Saturday morning to help them trace Doris Hallé Tremblay and its vehicle.

"The owners of farms and extensive grounds are advised to check their lands, particularly the pond and water bodies, fields, ditch or wasteland, to help us find traces of the vehicle or Ms. Hallé Tremblay" has said Chief Inspector Yanic Parent intermunicipal Régie de Richelieu-Saint-Laurent police.

Two roadblocks will be also held Sunday in the sector in order to gather more information.

"The collaboration of the public is crucial in this case and our police quickly process the information received," said Chief Inspector Parent.

The septuagenarian was last seen in a grocery store in Sainte-Julie, Sunday, early afternoon. She was wearing a black top and white shoes.

On Wednesday, police said they have concluded there was no foul play, but are trying to determine how her car caught fire and how she was burned.

Her burned car was found in a wooded area, she was outside the car but had burns to her body. How sad. They're saying no foul play so I'm sure they'll work out how it happened and how she got there. I'm glad she's been found though.
