Anyone got anything good to say about anything with regard to this? I've heard of hundreds of people doing good things - no one wants to talk about that though. Right?
are you blaming me for that?Jeana (DP) said:Anyone got anything good to say about anything with regard to this? I've heard of hundreds of people doing good things - no one wants to talk about that though. Right?

The following is a press release, but let me tell you this, BP has gone above & beyond what is printed in this article. Right after this happened, Paul (SIL), who lives in Vancleave, Ms., took his kids to Florida to stay with friends who still had electricity and phone service. After he dropped them off, he loaded up the van at a Wal Mart there in Fla. with bottled water, soap, canned food, diapers and anything else he thought folks would need. The next morning, his boss and several others from BP drove to Biloxi in three trucks and distributed everything from the van along with several electric generators, medical kits, clothing, and cans of gas siphoned from their own trucks for the generators. BP is continuing to help by encouraging their employees to volunteer for the Red Cross and other relief organizations without fear of losing their jobs. Im proud that my son-in-law works for a company that is doing so much.
The original press release:
BP Foundation contributes $1 million to Hurricane Katrina relief effort
Release date: 30 August 2005
Houston, TX, August 30, 2005: In response to the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina on communities in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi, BP announced that the BP Foundation has donated $1million to the Red Cross and will also match the contributions of BP employees to the disaster relief effort.
The BP Foundation donation will be dedicated as follows:
* $500,000 for Louisiana
* $250,000 for Mississippi
* $100,000 for Alabama
* $150,000 at the discretion of the Red Cross
BP will also conduct an employee appeal inviting BP employees in the US to assist the Red Cross in responding to Hurricane Katrina. The BP Foundation will match employee contributions on a one-to-one basis.
BP is an international company involved in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas; refining, marketing, supply and transportation of hydrocarbons; and manufacturing and marketing of petrochemicals, and solar and gas-fired power generation. BP has significant operations in the Gulf of Mexico and the affected states.
