Australia - Tara Brown, 25, brutally murdered, Molendinar, Qld, 8 Sept 2015
A 25-year-old mother has been run-off the road and beaten with a metal plate while trapped in her car in Molendinar, Queensland, police say. Tara Brown was still alive when rescuers pulled her attacker off Tuesday but she died in hospital Wednesday while on life support.
24-year-old Lionel Patea, an ex-boyfriend of Brown's and a former Bandidos gang member, did face attempted murder charges but these will now be upgraded to murder. He's in a secure mental health facility after stabbing himself. Authorities say Tara Brown had sought help from the police shortly before her death, reporting domestic violence-related issues, and an investigation is underway.
Surveillance video capturing her vehicle being rammed off the road is at the link.

A former Bandido accused of murdering Gold Coast woman Tara Brown in a vicious roadside attack has been ordered to stand trial in the Supreme Court...
Patea is also facing a murder charge on an unrelated matter. He is accused of killing missing father-of-two Greg Dufty along with New Zealand man Aaron John Crawford.
The same car Tara Brown lay trapped in while allegedly being beaten to death was borrowed by her accused killer just two months earlier to commit another murder, police claim.
Lionel Patea used Ms Brown’s Mazda 2 on July 6 to drive to a Gold Coast Hinterland property where he allegedly met cousin Aaron Crawford and they allegedly killed 37-year-old Greg Dufty over a drug debt.
09-08-2016, 11:28 PM #3THE bond between Tara Brown and her four-year-old daughter Aria remains unbroken.
Every night before she goes to sleep, Aria delivers a kiss to her pillow. On it is a photograph of the inseparable pair.
As the family face the shock and sadness which will come with the 12-month anniversary of the loss of Tara, Aria remains their shining light.
TURNING into Molendinar’s Macquarie Avenue, you’d be unaware of the horror that unfolded there a year ago.
Driving past a random house on the corner, there is nothing to tell a passer-by it is where a young Gold Coast mother was savagely beaten to death with a fire hydrant cover, allegedly at the bloody hands of her ex-lover.
Tara Brown, 24, was allegedly run off the road, down an embankment and into the side of a home where kids were watching morning television.
