Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

He said police had a picture of her going into her Dartmouth apartment complex on Thursday after her shift at work and Friday afternoon, his sister in law was talking to her.

“That’s the last anyone heard from her,” he said.

"36-year-old Catherine Campbell was found in a wooded area east of Barrington Street at North Street at about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say they are treating her death as a homicide and have taken a 27-year-old Halifax man into custody for questioning.

Police initially said Campbell was last seen at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in Dartmouth, but have since discovered that she was at a bar in downtown Halifax early Friday.

She was a constable with the police department in Truro, N.S".

"Halifax police are expected to provide an update on the case at 10:30 a.m. AT. CBC will be live streaming the broadcast here.

HRP said Campbell was last seen in Dartmouth on the morning of Sept. 10. She was a constable with the Truro Police Service and a volunteer firefighter for 10 years.

On Monday morning, Campbell was scheduled to report for work but didn't show up. Her sister said that wasn't in Campbell's nature.

Initially, police reported Campbell was last seen at her Windmill Road address in Dartmouth, N.S. However, police say further investigation revealed that she was at a bar in downtown Halifax in the early hours of Sept. 11.

Truro police Chief David MacNeil said he spoke to Campbell's parents.

"Telling them about Catherine's death was one of the most difficult things I've ever done as chief of police," he said in a statement".
