A Kansas City man arrested on rape charges was also a suspect in the death of the woman's husband.
Jacob McGinnis, 24, was arraigned Monday on charges of rape and armed criminal action and jailed on $500,000 bond, said Platte County prosecuting attorney Eric Zahnd. McGinnis was ordered to appear on the charges Sept. 20.
"Police and our office are continuing to investigate the shooting death of the rape victim's husband," Zahnd said.
McGinnis has not been charged in the death but "is a suspect in that crime as well," Zahnd said.
