What. The. What?
How do these people have the sheer nerve to just assault a near-adult? I mean, little kids make poor witnesses and also can't fight back. But this sicko just strolls in, enters the washroom and rapes a 17-year-old boy, just because?
I can't wrap my head around any sexual assault, but sort of see how some victims would be easier targets than others. In other words, I think as adults we feel safer from an attack like this, and to know that would not deter some of these sick SOBs makes me feel as vulnerable as an unattended child.
Sorry if that sounds muddled. Trying to process this.
ETA: i always helicopter parented my child, because I felt I could protect her. Now I shudder to think I might have been no protection to her at all.
