Capt. George Bonnett, a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office, said Thursday (Oct. 1) that searchers have "no new leads and are still asking for the public's assistance."

He said deputies and others have searched on foot, 4-wheelers and by helicopter. Searchers have even used boats to search the area Pearl River locks, he said.

"It's been a very considerable search,'' Bonnett said.

Oh very sad. "Human bones were found in the back seat." "Investigators continue to speak with several individuals who they believe will aid in the investigation. No arrests have yet been made in connection with this incident." http://www.wwltv.com/story/news/201...d-vehicle-remains-found-near-sun-la/73808744/

“Circumstances surrounding the fire are certainly suspicious, and we are treating it as a crime scene,” he said.

The St. Tammany Parish Coroner's office used DNA to positively identify the remains as Nanette Me'Shell King, whose family and friends have searched for in recent weeks. King, 41, of Bogalusa, was last seen on the afternoon of Sept. 20 leaving the Shell station in Bush where she worked, authorities have said.

The Sheriff's Office said Monday that investigators are talking with several individuals "who they believe will aid in the investigation,'' but are also seeking information from the public. No arrests have been made, they said.

I hope TPSO has better luck investigating this case than they did with Renita Menzies. Renita's badly burned remains were found in the backseat of her car on October 5, 2010 -- exactly five years ago -- in the town of Lacombe about 30 miles south of Sun. Sheriff Strain immediately tried to pass off the death as a suicide. The last I heard a couple of years back from a friend who contacted me, there still were no answers. :tsktsk:

"Dr. Peter Galvan, the parish coroner, said the case may remain a "perplexing enigma" that could remain unclassified."
