On the eve of their anniversary, Anchorage woman searches for missing husband
"On the eve of Kevin and Nicole Mitchell’s 11th wedding anniversary, Kevin had been missing for two days and Nicole was left searching for him and trying to stay strong for their children.

At about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Kevin Mitchell drove to his South Anchorage home, where a cleaning lady was working. He said hello, then traded his Municipal Light and Power vehicle for his personal 2012 gray Toyota Tundra pickup, his wife Nicole Mitchell said.

Kevin Mitchell left his lunch -- an untouched turkey sandwich -- and his wallet, complete with his credit cards and ID, in his work vehicle."

The search area is a result of recent google inquiries made on Kevin's computer...

“He hadn’t been feeling well lately; he had been having some medical issues,” Nicole Mitchell said. “He was having some anxiety about his health issues. I think maybe he was not in a clear state of mind, he was not taking any medication at the time of his disappearance."

The last outfit her husband was wearing was blue jeans, a black fleece jacket, a gray T-shirt and a baseball cap with the word "Alaska" on it. The license plate of his truck is GJA696.

A $10,000 reward is also being offered for a confirmed discovery of Kevin Mitchell.

It is amazing to me how many times we read about an unrelated body being found when searching for a missing person!

Why was he searching all those locations with his PC? Is that for work? If not, he must have been trying to throw everyone off?? Odd.

My reply to all comments: I can't believe this is really happening.

ANCHORAGE -
UPDATE Sept. 26 3:00 p.m.: Officials discovered an unrelated body while searching for Kevin Mitchell on the Seward Highway, Saturday, an on-scene Alaska State Trooper told Channel 2 reporter Austin Baird. Why is the wife talking in past tense already?

**never mind, I guess its suspected suicide.

Just saying that if they were all talking in past tense all those people wouldn't be coming out to search.

Since Mitchell's truck was found t
he search has focused on the mountains near where it was located. Searchers have found small items like tarps and empty drink bottles in the thick brush and steep creek beds, said search organizer Jenith Flynn Sunday night, but added that "there's nothing we can directly link to Kevin yet."

A campaign spearheaded by family and friends and disseminated via social media and email had grown over the weekend, attracting what search organizers described as a tidal wave of support. By Sunday evening, more than 1,000 people had joined a Facebook group focused on Mitchell’s disappearance.

Last seen wearing the shirt, jacket and cap in the photo?

Car found but no signs of Kevin.

Such a handsome young man, I hope he has not come upon foul play or suicide - his life is too precious for this. Praying for Kevin to be returned to his family.
