3 human skulls found in Palmdale apparently used in religious rite

Three human skulls were found at a Palmdale property, and authorities said Wednesday that they appeared to be used in religious ceremonies involving animal sacrifice and ancestor worship.
Chicken carcasses were also found at the scene, Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department Detective Kevin Acebedo said. I dont want to say (it is) Santeria but something that is similar to that.
No one is in custody.
It does appear the chickens were used in a religious rite, Acebedo said. They (the occupants of the property) did not say Santería. The individuals are involved in a religion that does involve animal sacrifice and ancestor worship. It (this kind of religion) goes by all different names. No two are the same, and everyone has different practices or procedures.

"It's going to take identification by the coroner's office to try to determine just exactly who these people are and where these skulls came from," said Det. Kevin Acebedo with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau.
Acebedo also says the human skulls are adult-sized skulls and they appear to be part of the homeowner's religious practice.
