19 people are thought to have died after more than six and a half inches of rain fell on the Cote d'Azur region in France in a couple of hours, Saturday. Many people were trapped in their vehicles in underground car parks as water swept streets in Nice, Antibes and Cannes.
Emergency SAR operations are still underway.

The French president, François Hollande, confirmed at least 16 people had died and a further three were missing. The interior ministry said earlier in the morning there was “little hope to find the [missing] alive”.
