This is the route the Help Find Joe Brunn FB page stated he was last seen. Why is there always a river?
ETA Last seen at Boondox Restaurant/ Bar and headed past Holiday Inn. Now stating he went past holiday inn to cornfield.

According to FB, the dogs picked up his scent on County Road 39. Weirdly enough, I was on that road today - no signs of anybody searching as we drove by.

Sounds like a suicide, the whole going into a corn field.

Also, not just a river, The Mississippi in this case.

Hey all, I'm a newbie and this is my first time posting. Just wondering why there are so few details? It sounds like he was in dress clothes? Was he attending some kind of celebration at the Holiday Inn or staying there? Or did I miss an article that has that info?

According to a post from his mom on FB, he was at a wedding on Friday evening and continued celebrating afterward.

I figured as much by the description of his clothes, but wanted to verify, Thanks!

Via a Facebook page, organizers are planning another search for 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5.

Volunteers are asked to wear bright clothing and am should expect to search fields and wooded areas. They will gather again at the Holiday Inn in Otsego.

Joseph Gerald Brunn, 23, was last seen around 1:30 Saturday morning, when he left the Boondox Bar and Grille in Otsego. Brunn left his car behind and didn’t return home. Brunn was last seen walking from the restaurant towards a field. Volunteers searched the cornfield and areas along the nearby Mississippi River on Sunday without finding him. Brunn grew up in Rogers and currently lives in Monticello.

Such a strange situation. I would love to know what his friends had to say about his state of mind at the bar....

We've seen this so many times--it's gotten so that when I see a young man who goes missing at night, esp from a bar, I ask: Where's the river? :(

Are intoxicated people drawn to water somehow?

In any event, he many not be in the river, it's just an incredibly common pattern, especially in the northern midwest.

Lets hope not... I've known men to step into a field or hedgerow when they've had to use the bathroom - especially when drinking! :blushing:
I wonder how he seemed to other guests at the wedding and after party.

Cameras captured him early Saturday leaving a nearby bar. Over the last two days, the search effort covered about 10 square miles. Along with the cornfields to the north of the hotel, crews also looked to the south. Law enforcement also traveled Highway 39 to Monticello where Joe lives. Wright County Sheriff’s deputies also started searching in nearby neighborhoods.

Law enforcement do not believe anyone is involved in Joe’s disappearance.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is doing a water search as well on the Mississippi River.

Unfortunately I think he's going to turn up in the river. I'm guessing he was intoxicated, I read somewhere he was kicked out of the bar, but going back over everything I can't find it again - so that is just rumor. But if he was that drunk that he got asked to leave, would he have been coherent enough to walk and not try to drive?

The path he took was headed straight for the river. I think he stumbled in, not knowing he was that close.

ALL IMO

I was hoping he would be found in the field, passed out. But since two days have passed now, not much hope he's still lying in a field somewhere, is there?

Yes, we have seen it here many times, guy goes missing from a bar, most probably drunk or even high, and there's a river close by ... :(

Reports says he was planning on staying at Holiday Inn

IMO... lots of story we are missing... who was he staying with? was there a fight? drunk? where were his friends? was he walking it off? he should have been found already unless hiding by accident or in water... such a tragedy

I wonder whether the fields have been searched thoroughly enough. How big are the fields in that area? How many people were searching? What is growing on those fields? Could he be lying within plants, well hidden from view, passed out from alcohol or drug poisoning, and died?

This article says "dozens" were searching fields and brushy areas. They might have missed him?

(sorry if this was posted already)

If he was drunk, he would walk in places people normally wouldn't like heavy brush
