Officers arrested a man found sleeping in a car with a dead cat in San Jose on Thursday, more than two weeks after a family reported their pet feline missing in the area.

GoGo, a 17-year-old long-hair orange mix, was last seen Sept. 21 outside his family home on the 1600 block of Hyacinth Lane.

Here is the surveillance video of GoGo being taken from outside his home.

It happened last Monday at about 9:30 p.m. GoGo had just eaten dinner and was lounging on the front lawn when a car stopped abruptly by the house. The alleged catnapper got out and approached GoGo, who tried to escape.

A veterinarian testified today that a San Jose man who tortured and killed 21 cats likely sexually abused one of them after killing it, drawing gasps from a courtroom audience.

Robert Roy Farmer, 26, pleaded guilty last year to 21 felony counts of animal cruelty and one count each of misdemeanor battery and being under the influence.

He was arrested in October 2015 after San Jose police officers found him asleep in his car with an*orange female tabby cat squeezed inside a center console. That cat–called “Tabby Doe” at the*hearing–has become the focal point of the prosecution’s argument for requiring Farmer to register as a sex offender when he’s eventually released from prison.

From an earlier article:

Although Farmer wasn’t charged with any sex crimes, Ellis said that “under California law, any crime–any crime–that is motivated by a sexual desire, intent, gratification, there’s discretionary registration.”

It’s unclear whether anyone in California ever has had to register as a sex offender for sexually abusing an animal. In Tennessee, an animal abuse registry went into effect last year.

Wow. I have the biggest soft spots for cats. I almost cried reading/thinking about this and if it happened with my cat I'd never get over it.
The fact that this man did this repeatedly is crazy. To steal, abuse, then kill cats. A cat serial killer! Poor GoGo.

There is SICK and then there is S I C K. This is downright depravity.
