Brendan Link Creato [previously Brandon Denato], 3, went missing during the overnight hours from his grandmother's home on the 100 block of Cooper Street near Virginia Street. Family members reported the boy missing at 6 a.m. K9 units tracked the boy's scent to South Park Drive where his body was found shortly before 9 a.m. The boy’s body was found approximately a mile from where he was last seen, NBC New York reported. The distance from the boy's home to where his body was found baffled some neighbors.

2pm presser expected. No link for livestream that I can find.

nj.com updated their story and fixed his name. It's actually Brendan Link Creato.

How is the weather ? I would assume not deceased from natural causes he wasn't out in the elements long enough unless it's extremely cold there.

Poor little angel Rest In Peace Brandon

Actually, yesterday was warm in NJ, high 70s during the day and mid-to-high 50s last night.

Still not releasing any new information except mom and dad did not live together but did live within blocks of each other, they shared custody. No link yet, this is as reported on 6abc

An announcement from Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Haddon Township Police Chief Mark Cavallo also said no one has yet been charged in the child’s death.

A K-9 unit from the Delaware River Port Authority Police Department tracked the child to a wooded area off South Park Drive in Haddon Township, where he was found deceased shortly before 9 a.m., it said.

The results of the autopsy are pending and the investigation is continuing. By mid-afternoon, the area where Brendan was found had been cleared of police tape, but there remained a heavy police presence at the boy’s home.

Community members in Haddon Township planned a vigil Tuesday night for 3-year-old Brendan Link Creato, found dead earlier that day.

As the vigil, planned for dusk, approached, neighbors were left with few answers about how Brendan died. Authorities have said only that an autopsy is pending, and the investigation is continuing.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office also said mid-day Tuesday no one had been charged in the boy’s death as of yet. It didn’t indicate whether authorities so far consider the death accidental or a homicide.

Samantha Denoto, Brendan’s mother released this statement to Eyewitness News:

“We are heartbroken by the loss of our beautiful boy Brendan Creato. Along with the Creato family, who also lost a son and grandson, we are grieving and tremendously saddened.
We thank the community, which searched this morning for Brendan and gathered tonight in his memory. We appreciate your efforts and kind words.
We do not have any answers about what occurred.
We do not intend to make any further statements. We do not plan to speak to the media. We request that we be provided with privacy during this very difficult time.”

Around 300 people showed up for a vigil to remember the little boy. Many in the crowd knew Brendan personally.

“He loved Pirates. He loved cats and dogs and he was going to be the Hulk for Halloween. He had his costume ready. He was a joy,” family friend Donna Duca said.

Among others, authorities have been questioning the father. "They won't let him talk to his parents because police won't let him talk to his parents. He's been there and he says he doesn't need a lawyer because he didn't do this. We know he didn't do it, he loved his baby," family friend Bernadette Ferrara said.

Family friends say despite a number of personal problems in D.J. Creato's life, his son was the most important thing to him.

"No matter what happened in their family life with the relationship with his wife, his work issues, when he saw Brendan, all that fell away and all he knew was this was the most important thing in his life," Duca said.

It's so strange that they are not saying anything at all. They didn't even release his name when he was reported missing. It was well after he was found that they reported his name. No info!

So, little guy died after being missing for only three hours ? Hypothermia ?
Was he maybe already sick with the flu perhaps ?
Just seems odd ; sorry.
:moo:

Fly with the angels, Brendan !

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said the pending autopsy with no cause or manner of death would hinder but not halt their investigation into the death. X-rays revealed no broken bones.

A source close to the investigation told NBC10 that Brendan didn't walk alone to the area where his body was found and was "definitely placed there."

Police spoke to Brendan's inconsolable father Tuesday but later released him from custody.

Karri Anthony, a friend of the boy's mother's family, said Brendan had been staying at his father's home at the time. His mother lives elsewhere, she said.

__________

The boy was staying with his father, David “DJ” Creato, Monday night. He was last seen around 9:30 a.m. when his grandmother dropped him off at David Creato’s house on the 100 block of Cooper Street, according to published reports. David Creato and Samantha Denoto are not married, but both live in Haddon Township.

I wonder how they know that he 'was placed there.'
