She starred in some of my favorite films. Not mentioned in the link, but I adored her performance in the original "Parent Trap" ... such a fiery spirit !

Truly a classy lady.
May she rest eternally and my utmost condolences to her loved ones !

Actress Maureen O'Hara of 'Miracle on 34th Street' Dies at 95

by The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES — Maureen O'Hara, the flame-haired Irish movie star who appeared in classics ranging from the grim "How Green Was My Valley" to the uplifting "Miracle on 34th Street" and bantered unforgettably with John Wayne in several films. She was 95.

O'Hara died in her sleep at her home in Boise, Idaho, said Johnny Nicoletti, her longtime manager.

"She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family as they celebrated her life listening to music from her favorite movie, 'The Quiet Man,'" said a statement from her family...

I was wondering why she lived in Boise Idaho and found this.

O'Hara spent the past eight years in her native Ireland before moving to Boise to be near her only grandson, Conor FitzSimons, whom she raised for much of his life.

FitzSimons brought O'Hara back to the United States after she and family members expressed concern about the authority a person with power of attorney was exercising in her life. "Maureen took steps to discharge the power of attorney, " then fended off a second power of attorney and "took steps to be reunited with her family, especially her grandson, " said her New York lawyer, Ed Fickess.

O'Hara said she did not want to talk about the events in Ireland that led to her coming to Boise. But she is working with Nicoletti to write a book about her experience. It's a way for her to get her story told in her own words while she is still around and not leave a bunch of nagging questions to nip at her legacy, FitzSimons said.

RIP Maureen.

I think I'm going to watch Only The Lonely tonight.

Maureen is delightful showcasing her life in the tv show "This is Your Life." One of her sisters couldn't make the show so I looked her up. Turns out she was a nun who died in 2013 (just short of her 94th birthday), and in her obituary instead of mentioning a movie star sister named Maureen O'Hara, a sister named Maureen Blair (Maureen's married name) was mentioned. The show was filmed in 1957, her sister Margaret Mary (Peggy) would move to LA that year.

Thanks for posting that, it was fascinating. She was definitely Ireland's greatest ever movie star, may she rest in peace.
