21-year-old student from W. Mich. goes missing in Norway
"LAWTON, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A 21-year-old student studying in Holland has gone missing while on vacation in Norway.
Newschannel 3 spoke Saturday with the sister of Dallas Rauker, and the Superintendent of Norwegian Police to learn more.
We learned Saturday that the parents of Dallas Rauker are on their way to Norway, and the last communication they had with their son was through a text message last Sunday.
Alicia Ruble tells us her brother Dallas was finishing the end of his semester abroad in Holland, and had planned a 4-day hike in Norway.
However, bad weather forced him to get a hotel room in the town of Reine last Sunday. That's the last time the family heard from him.
Police in Norway tell us that some hikers also spoke with Rauker on a mountain just west of Reine on Sunday the 18th. They took a photo of him and shared it with police."

Norwegian police and rescue services have been looking for Dallas, but the weather in the area have been bad and the search had to be stopped at 4 p.m. and they could not do a search up on the mountain. The search will continue on Sunday, and if the weather gets better they hope that a helicopter can help with the search.
The area is very beautiful, and there are much to do, but the autumn is not the best time of the year to go mountain climbing. At the moment the temperature are between 5 and 9 degree Centigrades (about 40-50 degrees F), it rains and is windy. It gets light about 7 a.m. and the sun sets at 3.45 p.m. and it gets dark around 5-5.30 p.m. Info about Lofoten: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lofoten and the village of Reine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reine

The searchers found him after about an hour's search, on the south side of Reinebringen cliff. They knew where to look for him from photos he had posted on SM. It's believed that he had an falling accident, the cliff is a popular tourist object, but also one of the most dangerous in the area, due to mudslides and loose stones. http://www.an.no/savnede-funnet-omkommet/s/5-4-196637
