Bemidji Police Seek Help Locating Missing Redby Woman
"The Bemidji Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing Redby woman.

According to police, 31-year-old Rose Downwind was last seen by family on Monday, Oct. 19 at Target in Bemidji.

Police also say her ex-boyfriend reported last seeing her leaving a residence on Stoner Avenue, located in southeastern Bemidji, on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 21. She may have gotten into a blue vehicle."

This is starting to get disturbing. I have mutual friends with three different missing persons right now. I have 3 mutual friends with Rose.

Looks like Dog The Bounty Hunter is on the case
“I am flying back to Minnesota to see what I can do. I talked to the Duane, the bounty hunter tonight, who has offered to help locate her,” Dennis Banks told Native News Online. Banks was referring to Duane Lee “Dog” Chapman, a bounty hunter and former bail bondsman, who had a television reality show called “Dog, the Bounty Hunter” for eight seasons. Currently, he stars in a television program called “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt.”

Darla Banks told Native News Online she hears from her daughter almost daily, but has not heard from her for almost 11 days now. Downwind was reportedly going to Saint Paul, Minnesota, but no one in Saint Paul she knows has seen her. “It’s not like her to not call me, we are very close. We talk all the time. Now, I am very worried about her,” Banks said from northern Virginia, where she is traveling with her father, Dennis Banks. “I filed a missing person’s report with the Bemidji Police Department a couple days ago.”

So let me get this straight the boyfriend saw her leave, and she may have left in a blue car.... I don't get it...

Just guessing here so take it for what it's worth. I'm thinking he saw her at that house and saw her get in that car but wasn't sure what kind of car it was.

Somehow I don't like the fact that the last person to see Rose was her ex-boyfriend.

Now, as Valley News Teams Neil Carlson shows us, it appears her ex-boyfriend is pointing his finger at Downwind’s current boyfriend.
A week ago Monday was the last time any family members had contact with Rose Downwind. Police say her sister spoke with Downwind at this Bemidji Target store. It’s the last anyone has heard from her.
Reporter: “She usually doesn’t take off and disappear for a week at a time?”
Mike Mastin, Bemidji Police Chief: “Correct, which is what got them concerned and which resulted in them contacting us.”

Police now say her ex-boyfriend has come forward to say he saw Downwind leaving a residence on Stoner Avenue last Wednesday, and she may have left in a blue vehicle.
However, Casandra Mountain, Downwind’s best friend tells me that Downwind has a history of physical fights with that ex-boyfriend.

Now, late this afternoon, Rose’s Mother, Georgia Downwind told me she received a text from Rose on Wednesday, after her ex-boyfriend reported seeing Rose.
Rose texted that she was in Minneapolis, but her Mom hasn’t heard from her since.
Georgia Downwind says, “Did she really send that text and why is her phone off? I’m praying for the best.”

Told ya I don't like the fact she was seen last by an ex. Now I hope the LE keeps a good eye on that man.

At first I was kind of shaking my head when I heard "Dog" and Beth we're coming up here to help search, I thought it was going to turn in to a circus. But now. .. I think the attention will be good. I honestly don't think society takes it seriously when a Native is missing. I think the pretty white girl problem is real.

I hope for Rose's sake he can give her all the attention she deserves. I've been checking her family's FB for updates and it is breaking my heart.

I wish the someone who says they saw her get into a blue van would be a little more specific.....

There have been a few tips the past few days, however, nothing has yet panned out, White said.

"The police can't share a lot with us at this point, but we're hoping within the next few days that we'll get answers," White said. "We've been working with the Police Department and they've been excellent. They've been so helpful and I'm so thankful to them."

I agree. I don't know Dennis but I know Cylde Bellecourt, who cofounded AIM. I hope they are able to find Rose, this is very sad.
 
Ugh! It can't be good that her ex boyfriend is the last to see her. I hope they are keeping an eye on him. It can't be good😦
 
So is Rose's Mum Georgia Downwind or Darla Banks? Both have been mentioned in above posts as her mother.
Really really do not like that the ex was the last to see her and sounds so very vague about it.
 
I'm trying to understand why/how the ex bf supposedly 'saw' her leaving a residence and getting into a car. Did he just happen to be near that residence at that moment? Did he spy on her? Or why would he see her leaving? Very peculiar statement, and somewhat suspicious.
