Aliquippa man found guilty of shooting Harmony Twp. officer

After a week-long trial, a Beaver County jury deliberated for nearly nine hours before convicting Earl L. Hollins, 29, of shooting former Harmony Township police officer Alan Loskoch.

“It’s a good thing,” Loskoch said after the verdict was announced. Police officers from several local departments were present throughout the trial, and Loskoch thanked them for their “unbelievable” support.

Aliquippa man sentenced for shooting Harmony Township officer, denies involvment

“I didn’t do it,” he said twice.

After a more than two-week trial, Hollins was found guilty in September of shooting former Harmony Township police officer Alan Loskoch in the chest.

Beaver County Judge Harry Knafelc sentenced Hollins to between 23 and 46 years in prison.
When asked to address Hollins, Loskoch looked at him directly.

    “You’re a coward,” he said.

When he had the chance to address the court, Hollins said he “looked up” to law enforcement as a child. He said his family is standing behind him as he is convicted of a crime he didn’t commit.

“My heart goes out to the officer that was shot,” Hollins said, adding he wants Loskoch to know “they got the wrong person.”
