MN - Hannah Oliva, 16, found dead in a field, Mankato, 4 Nov 2015

The local paper had some more details
http://www.keyc.com/story/30440145/...nd-dead-in-rural-field-investigation-underway

IMO this article states the police were contacted about 5 am. the homeowner saw it happen or got up early on the farm and saw a vehicle running in their field. 5 am and earlier is very very early for a HS student.
No trauma on her and found face down. located far from the vehicle.... so sad

Authorities Waiting on Autopsy Results in 16-Year-Old's Death
http://www.keyc.com/story/30448859/authorities-waiting-on-autopsy-results-in-16-year-olds-death
"Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office says the autopsy is complete following the recent death of a Mankato West High School student Hannah Oliva.

But it could take a few weeks before the report and lab results are finished. Authorities say they won’t know how Oliva died until then."

I am sure her parents, friends, family, and LE hate waiting for toxicology results as much as we here on WS do. RIP Hannah.

Authorities say student death not a suicide
Area law enforcement are not releasing details of a New Ulm girl’s cause of death, but do not believe that 16-year-old Hannah Oliva killed herself. Blue EArth County Sheriff’s Officials say an autopsy of Oliva’s body is finished, but the final report from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will not be released for at least a week or two pending results of a toxicology report.

IMO that is an interesting statement so again LE knows lots. So we don't know if she was (1) missing yet from home, (2) car was found in plowed field at 5 am - supposedly running, in drive and stuck in mud: we don't know when she got there; could have been earlier - until gas runs out? (3) she was far from the car - how far; why face down? that alone is weird. her pics all have her in glasses too - wonder where they are (4) was she actually heading to/from Mankato (5) really like to know if there were other car tracks and/or foot prints - was some one chasing her? (6) the timeline the LE will really help and her past... what was she afraid of that she drove into a field and ran from her car... so bizarre... so beyond sad

RIP Hannah.
This case is so bizarre. I do wonder if she was scared somehow? Or?

Minnesota teen Hannah Olivia, 16, whose body was found in farm field, accidentally suffocated in mud
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...accidentally-suffocated-mud-article-1.2481836

The Ramsey County medical examiner’s office determined the death to be accidental, stating that Oliva suffocated because of mud and debris in her mouth and nose, according to the Free Press of Mankato. Authorities expect to release a full report about Oliva’s death in the coming weeks.

IMO it is hard to believe someone runs from car and lands face down and suffocates... passes out? beyond sad

Sleep aid medicine contributed to death of Hannah Oliva

An autopsy determined the death to be accidental, according to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. The report said the amount of diphenhydramine in her blood explained Oliva’s apparent disorientation and her inability to get up when she collapsed.

It stated that it was Equate and she took 450 mg. Each gel cap has 50 mg so she took 9. IMO the article was surprising and beyond sad. I'm glad the press was able to explain the situation more to possibly help others understand the dangers of even OTC. I assume her girlfriend is fine.

thanks for links fix - I think I fixed mine too.

IMO so sad that that all 3 tried too much of it and all had different reactions. Hannah could actually drive a car. really not sure she was getting help though... but her mind was confused she probably though she was.

My son goes to college in Mankato and we drive by Mankato West Sr HS where she use to attend and I keep on thinking about whatever happening to that 16 yo girl. Now I know and I won't be taking a sleeping aide anytime soon.

What a senseless tragedy. Similar to what happened to my ex boyfriend about 20 years ago. He was high and drunk and walking home. He was found, drowned in a puddle. No one could believe it but me. I had seen him like that before.
RIP Hannah. You made a mistake like teenagers do. I'm so sad you couldn't have survived and learned a lesson.
I'd like to add that I am glad no charges were brought against her friends. It was an accident. They will suffer enough.
