    OH - Renee, 42, & Dakota Bauer, 7, Sarah Positano, 22, slain, Brimfield, 21 Jan 2005

More than 80 men and women have said they cannot serve as jurors in James Trimble's aggravated murder trial.

Trimble, 45, is scheduled to go on trial today on 22 charges, including three counts of aggravated murder for the Jan. 21 deaths of Renee Bauer, 42; her 7-year-old son, Dakota; and Sarah Positano, 22, a Kent State University student.

With up to 1,000 possible exhibits, more than 100 potential witnesses and a jury pool of 250, the trial may be the largest undertaking in the history of Portage County.

Bauer met Trimble in 2003, when he moved to his mother's Brimfield Township house after living in Texas for about 20 years. Neighbors said the couple had disagreements. A Brimfield police detective speculates that Bauer and her son were planning to leave for an extended period when she was shot around 9 p.m. on Jan. 21, according to court documents.

Bauer was shot in the back as she carried her son toward the door of the home she shared with Trimble, officials said in court documents. Autopsies showed 13 bullets entered her back and head, and Dakota had eight bullet wounds, some that may have traveled through his mother.

Trimble, dressed in combat fatigues, ran from the home on Sandy Lake Road into the woods. He confronted a man and his mother who were outside a home and then broke into Positano's Ranfield Road apartment around 11 p.m., according to documents.

A standoff began. Positano was killed during a struggle with Trimble while speaking to a hostage negotiator, documents say. She was found dead when SWAT teams broke into the home the next morning.

He has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Lager has filed documents stating that Trimble has been a methamphetamine addict for 20 years and was heavily under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the incidents.

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?

I hope that the Pros reminds the jury that this guy might have been into drugs for the past 20 years BUT they were street drugs..he chose to self-medicate and so the drugs are not an excuse and neither is insanity. If the jury has any sense they won't buy that defense. This guy deserves to die.

A 911 call that captured the final, frantic moments of an Ontario woman killed while attending school in Ohio is among evidence expected to be heard as the trial of her accused murderer moves forward this week.

Sarah Positano, a 22-year-old Sault Ste. Marie woman attending Kent State University, was found dead in her condo in January after police stormed the building following a tense overnight standoff with an armed man - a tragic conclusion to a shooting rampage that also claimed the lives of a woman and a seven-year-old boy.

It's alleged James Trimble gunned down his live-in girlfriend and her son, then led police on a chase through Brimfield, OH, before randomly choosing Positano's home as refuge.

A man accused of killing three people abruptly left his murder trial when graphic photos of two victims' wounds were shown to the jury.

James Trimble, 45, of nearby Brimfield Township, has been charged with three counts of aggravated murder and 17 other counts, including kidnapping and aggravated burglary.

Trimble is accused of killing his live-in girlfriend, Renee L. Bauer, 42, her 7-year-old son, Dakota, and Kent State University student Sarah Positano, 22, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, who was taken hostage.

When photos of the massive wound to Bauer's head and a wound to Dakota's neck were shown to the jury Thursday on a big-screen television, Trimble appeared shaken, got up from his seat at the defense table and left the courtroom for several minutes under escort by sheriff's deputies.

When he returned, he asked for and was given one Tylenol tablet and some tissues by his defense lawyers.

Sarah Positano's death was a result of " a cold blooded killer" says the prosecution at the murder trial of James Trimble. Trimbel is accused of killing Sarah Positano of Sault Ste. Marie and two others in January of this year in Ohio.

Sarah Positano was attending university in Brimsfield Ohio where she returned home to her condo on the night of January 21. Trimble took her hostage in a shooting rampage with Ohio police.

In a long drawn out trial lasting three weeks, Trimble is charged with aggravated murder of his girlfriend, Renee Bauer and her seven year old son, Dakota. After fleeing from police, Trimble broke into Positano's condo apartment and took her hostage. Postitano was killed with one bullet to the neck.

An Ohio man who kidnapped and killed an Ontario woman after gunning down his girlfriend and her young son is facing the death penalty following conviction Tuesday on numerous charges stemming from the shooting rampage, including three counts of aggravated murder.

After some eight hours of deliberation, spanning two days, a jury found Trimble guilty of all nine charges stemming from the shooting rampage - including the aggravated, or premeditated, murders of Bauer, her son and Positano.

"Everybody's happy, you couldn't ask for a better result," said a friend of the Positano's after calling the family in Sault Ste. Marie.

The friend, who attended the trial at the family's behest but declined to give her name, said the Positanos would travel to Ohio for the sentencing phase of the trial, scheduled to begin Nov. 2.

The family wants to read victim-impact statements in court during the week-long proceedings which will determine if Trimble is put to death by lethal injection.

Bauer's family rushed to the courthouse following word a verdict had been reached.

"They threw the book at him," muttered one male family member as Judge John Enlow read the guilty verdicts.

Fireworks broke out Tuesday outside a Portage County courtroom after a local man got a death sentence for triple murder, NewsChannel5's Brad Harvey reported.

The jurors in the James Trimble case imposed the death penalty after he was convicted two weeks ago of killing his girlfriend, Renee Bauer, 42, her 7-year-old son, Dakota, and Kent State University student Sarah Positano, 22, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, in Brimfield Township in January.

Trimble tearfully told jurors during an apology Monday that a drug addiction was ultimately responsible for his actions.

But as the families of the victims and the convicted spilled out of the courtroom, emotions spilled over, as well. Trimble's mother, Elizabeth Trimble Bresley, could barely contain herself, and her own accusations.

"The people who manufactured the drugs and sold them to him are still sitting in there. And it was Dakota's father, Jerry Bauer, who sold him the drugs to try to kill him," Bresley said. http://www.newsnet5.com/news/5280685/detail.html

    Drug Addiction

NO!!! James Trimble enjoyed the drugs! HE has always admitted that he liked doing them because it helped him get more work done so his bosses would like him. NOT an addiction! AN EXCUSE!!!!
