New Orleans own Allan Toussaint has died

Allan Toussaint, a New Orleans music legend died after performing in Madrid, Spain. He was 77. (Sorry, unable to link on this iPad mini). Some would say, with his death, the music has died and I am one who would feel that way.

I always liked this version of a Toussaint favorite. It was on the first album I ever bought, actually.

Allen Toussaint's live performances were great. He gave a lot of joy to his audiences and you could see he truly loved what he did. Fortune Teller is a big favorite. I loved seeing and hearing him perform. He was a gentleman always.

Hi, Isabelle. The loss of Mr. Toussaint is a major blow. It's a sad, sad day in New Orleans, for sure.

Second-line from Orpheum Theater wraps star-studded tribute to Allen Toussaint

    http://www.nola.com/music/index.ssf/...d-line_le.html

Fans, family, friends joined a lineup of New Orleans and world-famous musicians, who second-lined out of the Orpheum Theater on Friday afternoon (Nov. 20) to continue their tribute to the life of Allen Toussaint.
Among those who attended, spoke and performed were Cyril Neville, Deacon John, Davell Crawford, Irma Thomas, Jimmy Buffett, Elvis Costello, John Boutte, Boz Scaggs, and the Preservation Hall Brass Band.

At the close of the tribute, all of the performers and speakers were invited back onto the Orpheum stage, with Troy "Trombone" Shorty closing the show with a rousing rendition of "I'll Fly Away."
