The search for a missing New Jersey woman ended 10 days after her disappearance with the discovery of her headless body bound and wrapped in a blanket in a garage near her home Monday night, CBS New York reports.

The family of 50-year-old Pamela Davis reported the Newark woman missing Oct. 30. She was a mother of four.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the case as a homicide, according to the station.

Boyd Coyle said that he doesn't believe a family who live in the house where he body was found could have anything to do with her murder.

'I've been here for 20 years. They're very nice people,' Coyle told CBS New York.

It's not clear if her head was also located in the garage.

Authorities said it's also not known how Davis was killed, whether the beheading caused her death or she was dismembered after she died.

Meanwhile, sources tell Eyewitness News a man who rented the home Davis' body was discovered in and who is also a well-known mechanic in the neighborhood is now being questioned as a person of interest

"Very surprised because it was just like he was walking back and forth like it was nothing," a neighbor said.

"He's a sweet man," another person said. "Just to hear that it could've been and it was found in his house is a little weird."

Again this is an active and ongoing investigation and so far no formal arrests have been made.

Angel dust aka pcp aka sherm which now identifies with this stuff called bath crystals/salts is usually the drugs that people are on when they decapitate you for no reason.

People will hallucinate and go overboard during a basic conversation. I think the killer was truly on drugs.

You take the head but leave the hands. Come on.

Neighbor Boyd Coyle said he doesnt believe a couple and their son who live in the house where the body was found could have anything to do with Davis killing.

Ive been here for 20 years. Theyre very nice people, Coyle said.

So a couple and their son lived there? I'm guessing the auto mechanic being questioned is the son...if the neighbors called police because of the foul smell, how could the couple stand it in their own house? If the garage was attached, that is.

Multiple sources familiar with the investigation, but who were not authorized to speak, said that Davis' head was not recovered from the Newark residence where her body was found. Its current location is unknown, the sources said.

I don't see anything in msm for December or January. I'd like to know if this investigation is progressing. Any arrests??? Have they found the rest of her remains been found???
She sounds like she was a nice person and loving mother. Hopefully her family will get justice.

A Newark man was charged with murder in the 2015 killing of a 50-year-old mother of three who was found with her head separated from her body in garage, authorities said.
James Edwards, 57, was charged with murder Friday, prosecutors said. He was previously charged with desecration of human remains for allegedly decapitating Pamela Davis after he killed her, authorities said.
Prosecutors allege Edwards and Davis got into a fight in late October and he killed her.
The decapitated body of Davis was discovered in November 2015 after authorities responded to a report of a foul odor and found her wrapped in a blanket inside a garage on South 11th Street. Davis, who lived down the block from where she was found, had been reported missing Oct. 30.
