Is that intersection near her school? Her bus stop? Close to home? I hope she just went to a friend's house after school and there was a miscommunication or something!

Looks like Section 8 housing, which is often a high crime area. I don't have a good feeling about this one at all.

Authorities are searching for a 7-year-old Patterson girl last seen on Thursday as she got off the school bus.
Francis’ paternal grandmother reported her missing around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday after the girl never arrived at her house on Easy Street — about a block from where the bus driver dropped her off near Gabriel Street
Authorities have since been unable to reach the girl’s mother, Brittany Francis, or paternal grandmother, Nicole Fisher, who live in the same neighborhood, on St. Lucy Street, and may have information about the girl’s whereabouts.

I hope this child is with her mom and grandma.
I don't understand why someone can't meet her at the bus stop. She's 7. She's still a child. Heck I take my son, who is 10 to the bus. Ugh!

I agree, ms x. I also walked or drove my children to the bus stop until they were well into their teens and we lived in suburbia. A 7 year old is really a young child, somebody should have been there to meet the bus.

Edit to add: She has been found! UPDATE – 6:22 pm -7 year old Jayla Kielnn Francis from Patterson has been located, safe by police and is in good condition. https://www.facebook.com/quickiecountry/?fref=nf
