At a news conference at City Hall, Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau urged the community to call the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, which is conducting an investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call the BCA at 651-793-7000.

According to a statement released by Rep. Raymond Dehn (DFL-Minneapolis), who represents the area in which the incident occurred, Clark is currently on life support at Hennepin County Medical Center."

This disturbs me a great deal:

The shooting happened after police said they were called to north Minneapolis at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday for a report of an assault. When they arrived, the man had returned and was interfering with paramedics who were assisting the victim, police said.

Was he an abuser? Was the victim his wife or girlfriend? I know this doesn't mean he deserved to be shot, but if that's the case it makes me very angry he would go back to the scene and try to inflict even more damage on the victim.

It will be interesting to see what parts are true. I don't want to believe he was in handcuffs when they shot him, but I know better.

I'm sorry they killed him and I'm sorry his family has to deal with the ugliness and pain that's ahead of them. They deserve justice.

Sounds like the NAACP has investigated & determined what happened. What's the BCA waiting for?

This is just up the block from me. Helicopters in the air tonight. Very disturbing.

According to JC's supporters, he wasn't bothering the police & they handcuffed him, laid him on the ground & shot him in the head. With all the people & cameras around these had to be the stupidest cops on earth.

In the incident, two Minneapolis police officers responded to a request for assistance from paramedics who reported that an individual disrupted their ability to help an assault victim.

The BCA said Clark was a suspect in the assault and that there was an altercation between him and the officers before one of them shot him.

Twenty-four-year-old Jamar Clark was shot in a scuffle with officers. Police say he was a suspect in a domestic assault and interfered with paramedics at the scene. Some witnesses allege Clark was handcuffed when he was shot.

Family members say Clark was young, made mistakes, but was turning his life around.

According to court documents, Clark has past convictions that include an aggravated robbery in 2010 and a terroristic threats conviction from earlier in 2015.

"We're still ongoing as to exactly how the handcuffs came into this scene," ...

After that, will be interested in bullet to the head vs taser or other non-lethal method to subdue JC - as in post #6 not questioning at this point that JC had to be brought under control. Need to know though exactly what JC was doing that prompted LE to shoot. Imo, everyone should ask that.

I want to know that and I want to know about the assault that happened before LE/EMT arrived on the scene. Has there been any news about the incident or the victim?
