(A) Offense Defined -- A person commits an offense if, with intent to hinder the apprehension, prosecution, conviction or punishment of another for crime or violation of the terms of probation, parole, intermediate punishment or Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition, he:
(1) Harbors or conceals the other;
(2) Provides or aids in providing a weapon, transportation, disguise or other means of avoiding apprehension or effecting escape;
(3) Conceals or destroys evidence of the crime, or tampers with a witness, informant, document or other source of information, regardless of its admissibility in evidence;
(4) Warns the other of impending discovery or apprehension, except that this paragraph does not apply to a warning given in connection with an effort to bring another into compliance with law; or
(5) Provides false information to a law enforcement officer.

(B) Grading -- The offense is an (F3), Felony of the third degree if the conduct which the actor knows has been charged or is liable to be charged against the person aided would constitute a felony of the first or second degree. Otherwise it is a (M2) Misdemeanor of the second degree.

Help is still needed in finding a man who faces charges in the November attempted homicide of a Northern York County Regional Police officer...

In their search for Jackson, police have released a video of the incident, and put his picture on billboards in York, Harrisburg and Lancaster counties. They are also offering a $5,000 reward for information.

In the video, Northern Regional Officer Lynn Anderson can be seen talking with Jackson after a traffic stop in Manchester Township. In the clip, Jackson gets out of his vehicle, and as Anderson tries to handcuff Jackson, he appears to pull a handgun and fire three shots at the officer...

A York City woman who helped an alleged would-be cop killer pleaded guilty to hindering apprehension on Thursday, according to online court records.

Cathilia Laureano, 24, of 337 W. Market St., entered a negotiated plea agreement and was sentenced to 34 days to 18 months in York County Prison, which amounts to a time-served sentence, records indicate.

Laureano was one of three women accused of helping Trev Bowies Jackson II, 25, after he allegedly shot at Northern York County Regional Police Officer Lynn Anderson in November 2015, police said.

Along with Laureano, Cristina Lissette Perez, 23, and Xeomarie Velez-Quinones, 33, were accused of helping Jackson.

Kyle King, spokesman for the York County District Attorney's Office, said the office would not comment on Laureano's case because the other three related cases — Jackson's, Perez's and Velez-Quinones' — are still active.

They found Jackson guilty of attempted first-degree murder, assault on a law-enforcement officer and reckless endangerment. They also found him guilty of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property for breaking into a shed and stealing a bicycle to make his escape.

Jackson, 25, who was raised on York City's south side, is scheduled to be sentenced at 2:30 p.m. April 25, and he is facing a lengthy prison term.

The charge of assaulting a law-enforcement officer carries a mandatory 20- to 40-year sentence, Sunday confirmed. The attempted murder charge also carries a 20- to 40-year sentence, and the prosecutor confirmed he will ask the sentencing judge to run the counts consecutively.

Defense attorney Davis Younts said he will review appeal issues with Jackson. He said his client has faith in the criminal-justice system, which is why he chose to testify in his own defense Wednesday.

"He understood that when he took the stand, he was putting his future in the hands of the jury," Younts said.

Jackson testified Wednesday and admitted firing his illegal gun three times after being pulled over for a traffic violation.

Jackson also admitted he knew his car smelled of marijuana and that he knew he was likely going to be thrown back in state prison for a parole violation.

"I didn't want to go to jail," he told jurors. "I definitely didn't want to get caught with those drugs and that gun on me."

But Jackson testified that he didn't intend to shoot Anderson — he said he only meant to "create space" between himself and Anderson in order to flee. Jurors rejected that claim.

Three women were charged with hindering Jackson's apprehension. One of them, 24-year-old Cristina Perez, was a passenger in Jackson's car when he shot at Anderson.

Perez testified at trial she had no idea what was going to happen and tried to jump out when Jackson took off, but the car was moving too fast. He let her out a block or two later, she said. The video shows she did open her door as Jackson floored it and took off.

She initially told police she knew nothing of the incident but quickly recanted and admitted being present at the scene. Her defense attorney, Bill Graff, said he'll ask prosecutors to "do the right thing" and drop his client's felony hindering charge because she didn't break the law.

Jackson's sometime girlfriend, 24-year-old Cathilia Laureano, pleaded guilty to her hindering charge for patching up Jackson's gunshot wound. She was sentenced to time served (34 days) to 18 months in prison.

The hindering case against the third woman, 34-year-old Xeomarie Velez-Quinones, remains active.

Despite pleas for mercy from Trev Bowies Jackson II and his mother, a York County judge imposed a lengthy sentence on Jackson for shooting at a Northern Regional police officer three times at point-blank range.

"He attempted to take the life of a police officer. It was a malicious, intentional and horrendous act," Common Pleas Judge Michael E. Bortner said. "Mr. Jackson is a young man. ... But at this time, my obligation is to the community. And I believe Mr. Jackson is a threat to the community."

His concerns echoed those of chief deputy prosecutor Dave Sunday, who called Jackson "an extreme risk to ... public safety."

Bortner sentenced the 25-year-old Jackson to 30 to 60 years in state prison and said he hoped the man would find a reason to improve himself while locked up.

Charge dropped against woman with man who shot at York County police officer

In court documents, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Dave Sunday and District Attorney Tom Kearney wrote that they made the decision in the “interests of justice.” Specifically, they noted, Cristina Perez testified against Jackson, 26, of York, at trial.

“I was in put in a terrible situation,” Perez said on Monday, “and I’m glad the charges were dropped.”

Meanwhile, Xeomarie Velez-Quinones, 34, of York, remains charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution.

The last of three women accused of hindering the apprehension of attempted cop-killer Trev Bowies Jackson II has resolved her criminal case.

Xeomarie Velez-Quinones, 34, of York, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of hindering the apprehension of a fugitive. She was sentenced to 75 days in prison, which amounted to a time-served sentence, according to court documents.

In exchange for her plea, the felony version of that charge was dropped, according to defense attorney George Margetas.

Velez-Quinones will remain on probation for more than 10 months, court records state.
