Just searched this forum and saw this case mentioned but not in a thread of it's own. It garnered a cover story in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today.

After months of testing, DNA experts at an Ohio lab have been unable to identify the person who killed 14-year-old John Zera in 1976.

Nothing to crack the case, said Hales Corners Police Chief Eric Cera.

James Lee Crummel seems like a pretty viable suspect in this case, not sure if he was still in Wisconsin at the time though
