AL - Betty White, 38, Northport, 7 December 1980
Betty White was last seen in 1980 and was reported missing after she failed to show up for work. Investigators and her family believe that she is most likely the victim of foul play. They received a tip last week that could lead to a possible break in the case.
She had a "romantic involvement" with Charles Michael Brewer prior to her disappearance. Brewer was convicted of the murder of Dianna Lynn Holland and remains in prison. He is a person of interest for this case and for the homicide of Paula Ellis.
Information may mean break in case of Northport woman who vanished 35 years ago
It’s been 35 years since Betty White disappeared from her home in Northport.
Police and her family suspect that she was killed, but her body was never found. A few weeks ago, investigators with the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit received information that could finally mean a break in the case.White, 38, was reported missing after she didn’t show up for her 11 p.m. shift at the B.F. Goodrich plant on Dec. 7, 1980. Her parents discovered the door to her mobile home open and the phone off the hook when they went to check on her. All of her clothes, cash and belongings were still inside.
Decades Later, Victim's Mom Vows to Keep Killer Locked Up - June 2002, more information on Brewer.
