Date Of Birth: May 3, 1974
Age at Time of Disappearance: 19 years old
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 6'1" (178 cm); 150 lbs. (68 kg)
Distinguishing Characteristics: White male. Brown hair; brown eyes. At the time that he went missing, he had a full beard and mustache. Very thin build. Wears glasses.
Clothing: A blue jacket, a white T-shirt, blue pants and loafers.
Medical Conditions: Schwerman was depressed at the time of his disappearance. He was awaiting the results of testing to determine whether he was suffering from cancer.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Schwerman was last seen on December 6, 1993, when he left a friend's house in Venus Beach, CA. He was despondent over possibly having cancer. He was not carrying any identification. All efforts including posters, police, and PI's have been unsuccessful. It is theorized that he may have taken his own life, but the circumstances surrounding his disappearance are unclear. Schwerman's parents and brother live in Huntsville, Alabama.

I read about this case several years ago, it came back to my mind this morning shortly after waking up. Strange. Sad case. Can't find much online, nothing from his family etc.

It's from 2002, about an upcoming high school reunion.

"My gossip is not all good news. During the hunt to find everyone, we learned Roger Schwerman is missing and presumed dead. It is rumored he learned he had a fatal disease and OD'd before walking off into the Pacific Ocean[...]"
