While checking on that, they learned a seven-year-old boy had been missing for some time and was possibly dead at a nearby location.
They obtained a search warrant and while they were executing it on Thanksgiving Day, they reportedly found human remains in a shed.

On Thursday investigators discovered human remains in a shed at the property. Police are working with forensic examiners to determine if those remains are a 7-year-old boy who was reported missing, and a confirmed identity is still pending. Jones has not been charged with murder, but is being held on a $10 million bond.

What I also read is that the Mother 29 yo woman, bought pigs in Early September, so if that is the case, she is possibly also involved. JMO

Do we have a name for this little guy ?

That looks demonically evil in his mugshot ; I realize that's after the fact ... but still.
Wonder how much the "mother" knew ?
Shame on her if she allowed this murder to happen, and for not getting away and reporting it.
IMO

Poor baby. I have to go and sit on my hands.

The world makes no sense to me anymore. When I can read that a man beat his own little boy to death and then fed his remains to pigs! The news stories get worse and worse. Just this year alone. No baby child deserves to have his story told like this. Children treated like garbage. Makes me feel sick.

A.J.

The abuse and battery charges are related to an alleged attack on his wife, Heather Jones. The child abuse charge, described as “torturing or cruelly beating,” is “the tip of the iceberg” in the case involving the boy.

... a complicated investigation. More charges are expected and other suspects might be arrested.

The child abuse charge indicates the boy was abused between May 1 and Sept. 28.

Six girls ranging in ages from 10 to less than 2 were taken from the Jones home and are in state custody. They are healthy and safe and will be under court jurisdiction “for some time,” Gorman said. Investigators are still trying to determine the parents of each of the children, but Gorman said Heather Jones was not A.J.’s mother, whom investigators are trying to locate.

The wife of a Kansas man who is believed to have murdered his seven-year-old son and then fed the boy to pigs, called her father on Thanksgiving and calmly told the man about the incident.
Emph. mine

He looks sad in his photo, as if he's lost hope. :(
It would be good if none of those children were returned to HJ. Who describes a murder in a 'calm' fashion ??
Sickening to think of a little 7 year-old helpless against a large angry man ; the fear he suffered and seems like no one to stand up for him.
Where was his bio- mom ?
:moo:

Rest in peace , little Adrian. You've earned your angel wings and no one can hurt you now !

The stepmother of a missing seven-year-old boy whose remains were reportedly fed to pigs has been arrested, two weeks after her husband was also taken into custody.

Heather Jones, 29, was arrested early on Thursday on suspicion of first-degree murder and child abuse but has not been formally charged, according to the Wyandotte County Detention Center in Kansas. She is being held without bond, the Associated Press reported.

Both are pieces of pond scum. No pond scum is better than the two of them. Unbelievable!

They have both now been charged with murder. The bones found amongst the pigs have been confirmed as the bones of a child, bit have not yet been identified as those of missing 7 year old Adrian Jones.

Michael and Heather Jones, the father and stepmother of a young boy who is believed to have been missing for months and is presumed dead, have both been charged with first-degree felony murder....

The felony murder charge essentially accuses both in the death of Adrian, not as a planned or premeditated murder, but as the result of committing another crime, like child abuse. Specifically charging documents say by "committing, attempting to commit or fleeing from the felony of child abuse."

While prosecutors wait for DNA results of the bones medical examiners say are a child’s, the adult daughter of Michael Jones is speaking out, saying there’s no way her dad could have done what police are alleging.

Aisha, 23, lives in Baltimore.

“I’m here to let everyone know that my father Michael Jones is no killer, he's the most loving, helpful. He would help anybody,” she said.

The father of Heather Jones told The Kansas City Star that his daughter calmly called him on Thanksgiving.

“She told me that Mike killed the little boy and it would be all over the news,” the father said. “He fed him to the pigs, is all she said. ... She just told me it was going to be all over the news, and that’s the last time we talked.”

Six girls who were living at the Jones home, ranging in age from 10 years to younger than 2, were placed in protective custody before Heather Jones was arrested...

The children who are of school age reportedly were home-schooled.

[District Attorney Jerome] Gorman said previously he believed that the family had attracted the attention of child welfare officials in the past both in Kansas and in other states, but he had no details.

Can this thread be moved to missing persons? Or are we waiting until the remains are identified? And can't AJ have his name on the thread?

I cannot fathom why there isn't more outrage about this case. That poor little boy. I found some more info about their living situation:

"Since Michael and Heather Jones are being held in jail, the property owners felt safe enough to go check out the house -- and FOX4KC crews were invited along.

"I was shocked and disgusted. It took my breath away," Jennifer Hoevers, the property owner said.

Dead mice, syringes, pornographic videos and rat poison were found littered throughout the home -- along with dirty clothes, cages full of rats and a smell that can only be described as stomach-turning."

ETA: There is a video of the house conditions in the link.
