Police Ask For Help Locating Missing Madison Lake Man
"Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing Madison Lake man.

Michael Cook, 38, was last seen at his residence on the day before Thanksgiving.

Madison Police say Cook is 6 feet tall, weighs about 155 pounds and has short, red hair and blue eyes. Cook commonly wears a baseball cap and has tattoos on his arms, ankle and abdomen."

I always worry a little more for people who go missing during the holidays because of the increased rate of suicide. I didn't read anything on these articles to think Mr. Cook was prone to depression but then there is so little information on this case he could still have a history of depression. I hope I'm wrong and he just wanted some time off to clear his head and he'll be back with his family soon.

This is heartbreaking! He has a large family and a daughter. The family is absolutely frantic and doing what they can from out of state. I'm hoping he just needed a break and shows up soon but from what I've read on his families pages, I won't be surprised if LE eventually announces his disappearance as suspicious 😕
 
Mike Cook, 38, was last seen by co-workers Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving. Mike Cook decided to stay in Mankato during the holiday. He said goodbye to his friends and got into a gray van with a woman with blond curly hair from Mankato. Friends and family believe it was the woman he often referred to as his girlfriend.

After the workers returned, Cook didn't show up for work the following Monday or Tuesday. So Mike Cook's boss opened his trailer parked in the Madison Lake area and found all of his belongings inside. Mike couldn't be found and is still missing today.

The woman has been questioned by law enforcement and her house has been searched. The van has been found and the work vehicles he had access to have all been accounted for.

Mike is described as six feet tall, 155 pounds with short red hair and blue eyes. Cook commonly wears a baseball cap and has tattoos on his arms, ankle and abdomen.

That name and face are really familiar, I don't know where from. At first I thought there was a thread already, I guess I'm starting to lose it..

"There have already been several ground searches around Mankato, Murry said. If weather cooperates, a State Patrol helicopter will be in Madison Lake to assist with the search Wednesday. Investigators were able to locate the last place Mike Cook's cellphone was providing a signal and the search will be focusing there.'

A man on a traveling work crew was with a New Richland woman he met on Facebook the last day friends and neighbors saw him alive, according to search warrant applications.

The death of Michael Brent Cook remains under investigation, said Capt. Rich Murry of the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators are waiting for the results of toxicology tests that were completed after Cook's body was found Dec. 9 in a slough northeast of Madison Lake, where he was living temporarily.
