Linnea was out running this morning with our dog Nico. Both she and the dog were struck by a vehicle at approximately 8:15 am in Coral Crescent, L'Ance aux Epines, St. George.

Linnea is 5'6" weighing 115 lbs, light brown hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a pink/purple tank top and green running shorts with purple Adidas running shoes.

Police search for missing New Brunswick woman in Grenada
"Police in Grenada are searching for 36-year-old Linnea Moore Veinotte, who they say went missing on Sunday morning while out for a run.

Veinotte, a mother of two young sons, aged five and six, was born in New Denmark.
Her parents, Rev. Doug Moore and his wife Karen, live in Fredericton. Moore is the pastor at St. Matthew’s Lutheran church.
Moore says his daughter, who did a postdoctoral fellowship in microbiology at Dalhousie University, was working at St. George’s University in Grenada’s capital of St. George in the student learning centre.

He said she and her husband Matt, and their children had just returned to Grenada earlier in the fall, after having been back to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia for a year where they had been living."

She and her dog were hit by a car at 8AM. They have the dog and a description of the car....I suppose from a witness? Very strange.

New Brunswick woman missing after going for jog in Grenada
ST. GEORGE'S, Grenada -- Police and community members were searching the small Caribbean island of Grenada on Tuesday for a missing woman from New Brunswick who disappeared while out jogging with her dog.
Assistant Supt. Sylvan McIntyre of the Royal Grenada Police Force said several specialized units were involved in the search for Linnea Veinotte, who was reported missing at about 8 a.m. Sunday.
"We have expanded the search area throughout the length and breadth of Grenada, so every division and every force are involved in the search," he said in an interview from the capital of St. George's.
"We are hopeful that the person is found and found alive."
McIntyre said the family dog was found lying on the side of the road after being struck by a car and they believe Veinotte was taken by someone driving a dark coloured vehicle.
He said the 36-year-old mother of two young children was jogging in what he described as an affluent neighbourhood of St. George's.

I don't like the sound of this one little bit.

Yikes.

I wonder if they targeted her, disabled the dog so it wouldn't be an issue then took off with her. (I just have to say: poor doggie :(..)

If they are wealthy, has there been a ransom required yet?

It could be an accident but that is quick "thinking" if so. Maybe a spur of the moment abduction.

Whaaaat? This does not sound good at all.

Whenever someone goes missing while jogging or walking somewhere I often see people pose the theory that they could've been hit by a car and taken to cover it up. I hope this isn't the example we're going to look back on and that it's all just a horrible case of crossed wires, but I'm not feeling too positive.

Matt Veinotte has offered a $100,000 EC ($50,000 Cdn) reward for information on the whereabouts of his wife.

From your link:
"Members within the community did indicate that they did hear the screeching of a vehicle in the area and an impact. It was very evident that an impact had taken place," he said.

"Screeching of a vehicle". Now, when do we hear screeching of a vehicle? When one accelerates quickly, or perhaps brakes being applied? This is really, really scary.

A) vehicle hit her dog (and perhaps her) intentionally so as to abduct her.
B) vehicle hit her dog (and perhaps her) not intentionally, panicked and threw her in the vehicle to hide the evidence.
C) vehicle hit her dog, and abducted her.
D) (which is probably less likely) vehicle hit her dog and her, and drove off, she went to get help whilst being injured and has not been found as of yet.
Anyone have an "E"?

perhaps one more possible alternative for your list:

E) a set-up made to look like Linnea was there at the car accident and that she was kidnapped. I'm not saying that this one's a very high probability, but I noticed that the in the press conference LE was very careful about saying the "alleged accident", and the dog was "apparently" hit in a car accident.

Do people still get jumped for their running shoes?

Really? Was that a "thing"?! Please tell me nah

Lol, i will tell you anyway!
Safety tips for tourists in Granada.

"Blending In
No parecer tan guiri

" Example: wearing shorts does not always make you stand out, but shorts with blonde hair and a baseball cap will make you an obvious foreigner.

Snip>

baseball caps, especially if worn backwards, in different languages or one recently purchased with something about Granada, toros, etc. Ok, I guess that's just about any baseball hat.
tourist t-shirts (similar to above baseball hat types)
shorts
Nike (or other popular brands) cross-trainers, running shoes, hiking boots, Teva-type sandals and sometimes flip flops when worn outside of summer months.
city maps and big guidebooks
fanny packs
camera bags
large backpacks with the ever popular wear the smaller backpack on your chest.
constantly staring up at everything that amazes you (i.e.: not keeping your eye on the people around you in "touristy" areas.)
height - sorry for the taller travelers, but they will notice a 6' 6" person every place you go.
blonde hair
speaking loudly in English or other foreign languages
behaving too carefree, as in being drunk and not paying attention to your surroundings
eating, drinking and shopping in the "touristy" places"
