SC - Charles Chandler, 7, Kershaw County, 24 Nov 2015

    Charles Hughes Chandler

7-Year-Old Boy Missing in Kershaw County
"Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) - Kershaw County deputies are searching for a missing seven-year-old boy and his parents.

The grandfather of Charles Hughes Chandler says he hasn't been the boy since he was at Dobys Mill Elementary School back on November 24. Officers say the boy is believed to be with his parents, Jeremy Michael Chandler and Daniele Maiden Chandler, but the grandfather is worried because there's been no contact from them in weeks. He also told law enforcement the family may be living in a car."

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

This poor family 😯 hope they're ok, being homeless with a child can be extremely hard.

I hope the police aren't just assuming he's with his parents. What if he's not? Hopefully they are making headway into finding the parents but if he's not with them then this poor kid has been missing for almost two weeks now. Did he live with his granddad prior to his missing? Why would the parents take him and not let the grandfather know? It doesn't say that they don't have custody or anything like that.

No active manhunt, but deputies keeping watch for missing 7-year-old Kershaw Co. boy. Yes LE assumes that he's with his parents so they're going to wait and see.
He's a real cute kid, I hope they get off their ***'s and find him..

Thanks for the update PapaRob. I'm with you. They need to be more proactive and aggressive in finding this kid. Dad had a no contact order for some reason and expired or not that's cause for concern, not to mention living in a car. I'm hoping that he is with them though because the other alternatives are too scary to think about; especially after two weeks missing.

"There is somewhat of a history possibly between the mother and the father that has put up a red flag for me," said Captain Knafelc. "Obviously the child has not been in school since that day, the 24th."

Danielle had a protective order in Vermont against her husband that recently expired. The Chandlers then moved to South Carolina to be with Jeremy's estranged father in November.

The couple had enrolled Charles at Doby Mill's Elementary School, who was the one to alert authorities after Charles hadn't shown up in weeks.

Jeremy's father asked him to leave on the 23rd following some issues.

With no other place to stay, authorities believe the family may be living in their car and are searching for a blue-green 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt with Vermont license tag of GGW263.

This isn't the exact car the family may be in, but it resembles the blue-green 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt they could be living out of.

Charles Hughes Chandler was found in New Hampshire with his family. The child hadn't been in school for the last several weeks, and had minor injuries and beg bugs over his body. The boy's grandmother in New Hampshire picked him up, and said she intends to seek temporary custody of the boy. Family court and child services in New Hampshire are involved and investigating.
