A man once accused in the infamous murder of a young Indianapolis girl was sentenced Friday in another crime. William Beever will most likely spend the rest of his life in jail for molesting his nephew.
In exclusive police video from 2003, an eleven-year-old boy revealed his uncle, William Beever, threatened to shoot him, chop off his head, and throw it in the river if he told anyone what his uncle had done to him.
On Friday afternoon, a judge sentenced Beever to 70 years in prison for molesting his nephew. Beever told 24-Hour News 8 he was innocent and did not molest his brother's son.
But this may not be the last time Beever faces a judge and jury. Detectives suspect he raped, stabbed and murdered eleven-year-old Peggy Sue Altes in 1984.
“I don't care about talking about something I ain't guilty of,” said Beever. He denied molesting or killing Peggy Sue Altes.
Hancock County prosecutors charged Beever with the young girl's death, but then dropped the charge because they say they ran out of time to build a solid case for trial. When 24-Hour News 8 told Beever of the possibility that the prosecutor may charge him again in her murder, he responded, “That's him; whatever he wants to do.”
Prosecutors may still go after Beever or try to grant him immunity if he cooperates.
The judge sentenced Beever to seventy years in jail because he is a habitual offender. He's been arrested 27 times.

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?
