The GBI and the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office have been investigating the disappearance of Tim Guy who was 18 years old when he was last seen on February 6, 1987. Shortly before his disappearance, Tim had moved to Forsyth County from Snellville, where his family still lives, to work as a stable hand at Sleepy Fox Farm.

Employees at the farm told investigators that Tim was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 6, 1987. He was heading to his parents home, leaving with a man named Jeff who was said to be driving a 1972 to 1974 Chevy Impala. Jeff, whose last name is unknown, was described as a big-boned, muscular person who was about 5'10" tall, 180 lbs., with brown hair and beard.

Jeff' s parents were contacted by the Farm Manager two days later when he did not return to work and his parents informed the manager that he had never come home.

Were Jeff's parents contacted, or Tim's parents? How could Jeff's parents be contacted if his last name was unknown?

Endangered Missing
Date Of Birth: August 8, 1968
Age: 18 years old
Height and Weight: 6'2, 210 pounds
Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian male. Brown hair, green eyes. Guy has prominent facial dimples. His nicknames are Timmy and Tim.
Medical Conditions: Guy has a learning disability that causes him to behave in a manner younger than his chronological age.

Guy moved to Forsyth County, Georgia from his family's home in Snellville, Georgia shortly before his February 1987 disappearance. He was employed as a stable hand at the Sleepy Fox Farm, a horse ranch in Forsyth County, about 25 miles from his family's home. His fellow workers last saw Guy at approximately 9:00 p.m. on February 7, 1987. He was preparing to return to his parents' residence in Snellville for the weekend.

Guy was accompanied by an unidentified Caucasian male known only as Jeff. Jeff was approximately 5'10 and weighed 180 pounds. He had brown hair and a beard. Jeff was driving a 1972 - 1974 Chevrolet Impala on that evening. He and Guy entered the vehicle and drove away. Guy has never been seen again. His parents were contacted by the Sleepy Fox Farm's manager on February 9, 1987, two days after Guy and "Jeff" were last seen on the property. The manager informed them that their son had not reported to work that day. Guy's family stated that he never arrived in Snellville the previous weekend and filed a missing person's report with authorities.

GBI: https://gbi.georgia.gov/case/missing-persons-383 According to his family, Tim has a learning disability and therefore acted much younger than his age. His family feels strongly that if Tim were okay, they would have heard from him long ago. Investigators have spent hundreds of hours following up on possible leads but to no avail. If you have any information on either the location of Tim or on the identify of Jeff, please call the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office at 770/781-2222 or the GBI TIP line at 1-800-597-TIPS.

NCIC Number:

Please refer to this number when contacting any agency with information regarding this case.

Summary/Assessment:

IMO Very unlikely that Timothy is a match.
-Age - too young, would have been 23-24 in 1992
-Height fits, but Timothy weight was heavier 210-220 lbs.
-Hair color - appears dark brown in the one image that is available.
-Distance, disappeared from Georgia, Learning disability/acted younger than his years. Unlikely to have traveled to Nevada.
-LE suspect foul play.

No DNA or Dentals. However it appears as if his family may still be living in Snellville, GA. (possibly Douglas and Vicky Guy)

Maybe the Farm Manager reported that he had called "Jeff's parents" without elaborating, and no one thought to ask, and that's what got written in the report.

We don't know the last name either way, Jeff or Tim, apparently, but the manager might have known who to call for information and simply never mentioned the last name to anyone.

No, Tim is the missing guy -- Timothy Guy -- and it's his parents who were called.
