It was shorter to list the people not being worked on, so if you've got a few minutes, check out these guys:

    Douglas, PA http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...y-K-Namus-7222

Davies, CA -- there's a question about his LKA date that might put his disappearance after Sand Canyon Doe was found, so finding more information about that would be useful. http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...e-Net-1627DMCA

    Daughenbaugh, NC http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...6#post12248106

    Blimkie, Canada http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...1#post12248101

    Belliveau, Canada http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...6#post12248096

    Spencer, CA http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...Doe-Net-98DMCA

    Pruett, OH http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...e-Net-1268DMOH

    Patterson, TN http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...e-Net-1268DMOH

    Jones, NC http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...on-Namus-11103

    Heines, TX http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...e-Net-4778DMTX

    Garrison, MO http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...re-Namus-15059

    Franks, OH http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...e-Net-4790DMOH

    Fiala, AK http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...ph-Namus-26374

Johnston, IA, is marked as "moved." Not sure what gives with that? Bessie? The information all seems to be there. http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...OHNSTON-Sidney

There was an unidentified body found in sand canyon Nevada in 1992. Detectives are actively working the case in connection with this forum. We gave them a list of missing persons who fit certain parameters. We are now working on the ones that have not yet been ruled out by them. Choose a person you want to work on and find out whatever you can about the missing person. Then, I think we are to start a thread after we do that.

Welcome! We need your help! On most WS threads, the state is provided and a brief line about the contents of the thread. Very often, it is the name of an unidentified body (UID). Here, we are working on a UID in Nevada in collaboration with law enforcement (LE). Find the information pertaining to the case under the detective sticky. Our big task has been to make a list of missing person's (MP's) that might correspond in physical detail and circumstances to the UID. By this point, several thousand MP's (IIRC) have been eliminated as matches. We are down to 48. There is a separate thread for each of these 48 men. We are finding out as much as we can about these 48. This is information for LE to do something with. This is internet research and discussion with other posters here only. It is not our job to contact anyone AT ALL, since doing so might compromise the case.

Read over the instructions for our task. Read some of the posts on those 48 to give you an idea what to look for. Pick an MP and jump in.

Note: we have DNA and dentals for our UID. We do not have fingerprints. It will be especially helpful if MP's that are being researched have DNA and/or dental records. If you can locate evidence that those are on file, by all means include it in the MP's thread.

Above in this thread, you will see posts that answer some of your questions. Read those over too, in case they say it better than I can here.

    Hope that helps!

The link to the Belliveau thread is above in Post #46. No need to start a new thread. Put whatever info you have on Belliveau in that thread.

Read the various posts giving instructions (see ^^^^^^). Look over how some of the other MP's have been handled, if you need some ideas about what kind of information might be applicable. But add whatever else you think is relevant, like your above comments with photo and hair swoop.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the help recently! You guys rock! LEO has a list with these pending 48 names plus any new additions (and some ones that I can't verify have been ruled out yet). The list they have all have direct links to the individual threads you are all posting in and links to NamUs. I am excited that some of the ones we looked into back in April now have updated DNA and dentals when they previously did not.

I am not sure if LEO got busy with other cases (as they can only work on this during their free time). I am not sure how long it will take them to go through all of the info - but they have a quick handy reference list with links so hopefully that helps in ease of use. Meanwhile, we can keep working on these folks to try and dig up any info we can find in an effort to get more info. I am not sure if the family info helps but if more is needed (ie: dentist info, maternal or mitochondrial DNA, pictures, the family's side of the story, etc) they have somewhere to start looking. I think the court documents also are a way to get information they might be able to find family members. I would rather give them anything we can find and let LEO decide if it's relevant to them or not. Sadly, the age of this case limits what we can find on the internet but sleuthers have surprised me so far.

I found more pending submissions than we thought back in early December so LEO's list got bigger - but most of those have dental or DNA uploaded into NamUs. The ones we are helping with (48 pending) are more difficult to Rule Out. At any rate, when mmarty has time to spend on this - he will update and I can update the alpha list.

Also, if anyone is willing to go back through looking for MP's (fitting our height, dates, and possible hair color) who were not named previously (see alpha list) please submit them. There may be new submissions to NamUs since April where the family finally just decided to list them as a missing person. We went through all of the national data bases back in April and some individual States websites, along with some from Canada. If we go through our entire alpha list and rule out everyone then we will have to get really creative but hopefully we have already identified Sand Canyon John Doe and we just don't know it yet.

I agree, the more info we give the LE's the better. Whewe4, can you tell us the process to follow if we suspect that we might have someone who might have been missed? Where would we post that information?

Create a new thread for him and post a link to it in this thread. Wenwe4 looks here for updates to the main list.

Look at wenwe's list to make sure that person hasn't been eliminated already.

I'm working on the 2015 entries to NAMUS. Then I'll cross check with wenwe's master list.

Later: Ummmmm....all the very tall ones are redheads....
And, dang, if some don't look like reincarnations of Eder. Could he have gone missing several times over under different names?
