    CA - Pamela Ames, 57, Wichepec, 16 December 2015

Deputies Search for Missing Woman in Siskiyou County

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. – "On Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at about 11:30 a.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) units responded to a report of a traffic collision with a vehicle submerged in water in vicinity of the Dillon Creek Bridge at State Highway 96. The original report indicated the vehicle was occupied by an unknown person.
CHP authorities arrived and requested assistance from the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, which responded to the scene. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied and was recovered from the creek.

SCSO is handling this case as a suspicious missing persons’ investigation. The registered owner of the vehicle, Ms. Pamela Ames, was not located in vicinity of the vehicle but personal items were recovered in the area. An associate of Ms. Ames was contacted and she was last seen in the Wichepec area during the early morning hours of December 16th, prior to the incident. A SCSO Search and Rescue (SAR) team and detectives are currently searching the area for signs or clues to help investigators determine Ms. Ames’ whereabouts and other details related to the incident."

I was just going to post her info. The Klamath River which Dillon Creek feeds into "disappears" people and sometimes they will be found a few years later. Very, very remote area. I worked in that area for 10 years, here are some pics/maps of the location.
