Telephone records introduced at Robert DeRosario's murder trial indicate that, on the day a 12-year-old boy disappeared on Walnut Street in Yonkers, the defendant made 10 calls to a teenager who claims that the teen had suggested a fantasy to DeRosario about having sex with a young boy and killing him.

DeRosario is accused of kidnapping and killing the missing boy, Orlandito Rosario-Maldonado of Yonkers, whose body was discovered Jan. 23, 1999, along the Saw Mill River Parkway. He died from blunt-force trauma to the head and strangulation.

DeRosario is serving a 10-year prison sentence for engaging in sexual activity with the Hastings boy and 11 other teenage boys he met in his neighborhood or on the Internet. That case was developed while police were investigating him in connection with the homicide. He faces up to an additional 25 years to life if convicted in Orlandito's death, for which he is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping.

This sicko should get the death penalty. If he hadn't murdered that young boy he would have gone on molesting boys forever.

Another winner! Not! This is getting so serious and so unforgiving. How can anyone question the death penalty?

Seven years after the body of a 12-year-old boy was found half-buried near the Saw Mill River Parkway, a 42-year-old Yonkers man was found guilty of killing him.

Robert DeRosario, who was already serving a 10-year prison term for sex attacks on teenagers, was convicted Wednesday in Westchester County Court of murder and kidnapping in the death of Orlandito Rosario Maldonado.

He could be imprisoned for up to an additional 25 years to life when he is sentenced Nov. 15.

A former Yonkers man was sentenced in Westchester County Court yesterday to two consecutive terms of 25-years to life in prison for his convictions on two counts of murder in the second degree and two counts of kidnapping in the first degree.

The 50 year to life term in prison will begin when Robert DeRosario, 41, completes the 10-year prison term for prior convictions.
