    MA - Alex F Scesny 2000's

Fresh evidence or a sudden recollection of a witness may be the last hope for investigators who have run into a wall in the case of three women who fell victim to a serial killer.

Time has not been on investigators' side since the skeletal remains of Carmen Rudy and Betsy Montalvo were found in the woods behind Marlborough's Hillside School two years ago this month. In March 2004 in Hudson - less than two miles from the Hillside School - the remains of Dinelia Torres were found.

BETZAIDA "BETSY" MONTALVO (29) - body found in Marlborough Massachusetts
CARMEN RUDY (28) - body also found in Marlborough Massachusetts
DINELIA TORRES (33) - found in nearby Hudson Massachusetts

I just ran across your post while searching for something else.

Have you heard anything more about this? I'm going to do a newspaper archive search to see if I can find any recent articles.

A fourth possible victim of serial killer

"The remains of Betzaida Montalvo, 29, were found on the grounds of the Hillside School in Marlboro on Sept. 24, 2003. Five days later, the remains of Carmen Rudy, 29, were found just feet away. The remains of Dinelia Torres, 33, were found about a mile away in Hudson on March 3, 2004.

All three women were petite, of Hispanic ancestry, and had turned to prostitution to support drug habits. All three women had also sought help from the same Worcester shelter and human services organization.

The slayings remain unsolved, and Middlesex District Attorney Martha Coakley has said the women may be victims of a serial killer."

    http://www.seacoastonline.com/news/0...h_of/58349.htm

"State and local police confirmed at a press conference last Friday that they are working with Worcester, Mass., investigators after the body found in a trash can about 20 feet from Riverwood Drive was identified as Wendy Morello of 1 Kilby St. in Worcester.

    snip

Morello is the fourth woman found dead within the past year who was known to have ties to drugs and prostitution in Worcester’s Main South neighborhood.

The skeletal remains of Betzaida Montalvo and Carmen Rudy, both 29, were found last September in shallow graves in a wooded area of a private school near Marlboro, Mass. Rudy, a mother of two, had been missing for about a year before her remains were discovered.

The body of 33-year-old Dinelia Torres was found six months later, in March, in a wooded area off a gated road in nearby Hudson, Mass. Authorities estimated she had been dead about two to nine months before she was found.

At a news conference on Friday, Worcester acting Police Chief Paul F. Campbell noted Morello was petite and had brown hair and eyes like the other three victims, but would not comment further on any connection between the cases. The first three women were prostitutes in the Main South area, had battled drug addiction and been helped at Worcester shelters. Police and family members of Morello have confirmed she had a similar history. "

It appears that in July of this year, law enforcement determined that Wendy Morello's murder was not connected to the other three murders. I'm not sure how they made this determination.

Convict pleads guilty to two murders

A 23-year-old prison inmate linked by DNA evidence to two long unsolved Albany killings and a rape has pleaded guilty to murder charges.

Raymon McGill, formerly of Schenectady, faces 40 years to life behind bars.

He admitted Saturday in Albany County Court to fatally stabbing Martha Montalvo, a 50-year-old state worker, in her home five years ago.

He also admitted to murder in the shooting death of 69-year-old George Young in 2004 during a robbery at Young's home.

Is this man connected with this case at all?

    Betzaida Montalvo, 29, found Sept. 24, 2003. Isn't this a different woman?

Serial killers are the worst. They don't show an objectivety to the case. They are random but their cause is usually the same. It is always about them.

MA - Alex F Scesny, "Main South Woodsman", 2003-07

BOSTON -- There are fears Thursday that a Worcester-area woman who has been missing since January may have fallen victim to a serial killer.

NewsCenter 5's Jack Harper reported that Lineida Olivera shares many characteristics with four other women who were found killed during the past several years.

    http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news...30/detail.html

Petite, dark-hair, dark-skinned and a history of drug use and prostitution.

Oh, how horrible. I'm hoping for the best, but when LE actually states something like this, it's probably not good.

I know, There has to be a reason for thinking of a connection, maybe its the way the bodies were found or how they were mudered......anyway its horrible to think about a serial killer on the loose...

Two of the women were found on the same school grounds and another was found about a mile away. It's unclear whether Ms. Morello was a victim of the serial killer, but she was murdered. The profiler mentioned in the third link really seems to believe that there is a serial killer and that the missing woman is probably a victim. I hope they catch this monster.

    Update

Authorities confirmed today the identity of the woman missing since January whose skeletal remains were found yesterday in woods off Route 122 near the Oakham town line by a hunter.

Lineida Olivera was reported missing by her family May 4 to Worcester police and the family placed fliers with the 34-year-old woman’s picture and description all over the city and in Framingham, where the mother of 11 children used to live.

The circumstances surrounding the discovery of Ms. Olivera’s remains, her physical characteristics, her background of prostitution in the Main South area of Worcester and her drug use have striking similarities to the deaths of other woman believed to be the work of a serial killer.
