Found Deceased NJ - Adam Sharp, 23, Woodbridge, 27 Dec 2015

Adam Sharp was last seen four days ago, when he walked off while with a friend, said his sister-in-law Samantha Johnson. Sharp did not bring his wallet, clothes or supplies, and his cellphone has been turned off. Sharp was last seen near Route 9 in Woodbridge.

Sharp served in the Marines in Afghanistan, and grew up in Edison. He later settled in North Carolina, where he lives on a farm. He was in New Jersey visiting family for the holidays.

Johnson said that Sharp is outdoorsy, and frequently travels long distances by bike or foot. But he typically keeps in touch with family on those endeavors, and they've been calling him every hour for the past few days to no avail. His cellphone has been turned off.

He was last seen wearing a winter jacket, dark pajama pants, a winter hat and a long-sleeve green shirt.

Adam Sharp is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. Adam Sharp has green eyes and brown hair and was last seen wearing a winter jacket, dark pajama pants, a dark gray skully winter hat and a long-sleeve green shirt. Adam Sharp has a large tattoo which covers from his left shoulder down his left bicep.

SM Rumor from the family is he is believed to be hitchhiking back to his farm in Leicester, NC (near Asheville.) Safe travels, buddy! I hope it's true and he gets home just fine. He sounds capable of it. But geez, call somebody!

Some family members and friends believe Adam Sharp may be off his medication and avoiding being found. They’ve seen signs Sharp is ducking those searching for him. Over the weekend, they knocked on several doors on Mary Avenue in Woodbridge, and were told by residents they’d seen someone matching Sharp’s description in the neighborhood.

They put up hundreds of flyers on that street and others nearby Saturday. Early Sunday morning, one friend went outside and found all the fliers had been taken down. Flyers were removed from a nearby wooded trail as well. "I think he’s living with someone on that street.”

The group put up more posters on Sunday, hoping they might see Sharp if he came out to remove them. But so far, they’re still up.

Missing Marine veteran last seen a month ago in Central Jersey

More than a month after he was allegedly spotted in Central Jersey, the search continues for a North Carolina man who was reported missing after visiting family here over the holidays.

Police Capt. Scott Golden said the last alleged sighting of Adam Sharp, 23 was on Jan. 10 in the Woodbridge area.

Since then, there have been no sightings of Sharp, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Sharp's profile was entered earlier this month into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) database.

According to the NamUs, Sharp made contact with someone who invited him in for coffee. Sharp was last seen at the corner of New Brunswick Avenue and Paul Street .

There were several more reports of alleged sightings of Sharp in early January. Sharp was allegedly spotted Jan. 9 in the area of the Jose Tejas restaurant in Woodbridge off Route 1 North. The following day, Sharp was apparently spotted by the QuickChek on New Brunswick Avenue in Fords and the Home Depot store off Route 9 in Woodbridge.

found deceased: police have confirmed that the remains found on a riverbank in Perth Amboy earlier this month were those of Adam Sharp — the retired U.S. Marine formerly of Edison, who went missing on New Year's Eve.
