Alyssa Kincaid and her boyfriend Nicholas Campbell, and baby Ciara.

The incident began when Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a residence off of Magnolia Springs Drive in Woodstock, Thursday in reference to a child not breathing.

Authorities found multiple injuries on the small child.

On Tuesday, Baker announced that warrants had also been taken out charging Kincaid, 24, in connection with the case.

Kincaid is charged with second-degree child cruelty, and is alleged to have “allowed” the abuse that resulted in her daughter’s death — but she hadn’t been seen since Sunday at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta...

Kincaid, who had been at her daughter's bedside until she died, was charged with second degree child abuse charges and went on the run...

Deputies confirmed today that Campbell, who is also charged with meth possession, is not the child's biological father - despite the girl taking his last name.

He is being held without bond and his charges may be modified pending the results of an autopsy.

Meanwhile Kincaid was confirmed to have an extensive criminal record in Cherokee County, including drug possession charges and giving officers false information.

Isn't this awful?! RIP Ciara.

(I think there may already be a thread for her, Raymonde. Maybe I just read about it in the news.)

I looked, but I couldn't find one... If you find one post the link here and I'll ask mods to merge them :)

From last month:

Woman enters plea for infant death, agrees to testify against boyfriend

http://www.tribuneledgernews.com/ledger/woman-enters-plea-for-infant-death-agrees-to-testify-against/article_cc8522dc-cbbd-11e7-8a24-0f96ac090e5b.html

Alyssa Kincaid, 26, negotiated a guilty plea and agreed to a 15-year sentence, seven of which will be in custody, for two counts of cruelty to children in the second degree and possession of methamphetamine in relation to the death of her daughter, Ciara Campbell, on Dec. 13, 2015.

Conditions of her plea include a $1,000 fine, reimbursement of her appointed attorney fees to Cherokee County, no unsupervised contact with any children under 18 years old, completion of substance abuse treatment, no possession of alcohol, firearms or drugs in addition to staying in a residence or vehicle where those items are present.

Kincaid must have no contact, whether direct or indirect, with her former boyfriend Nicholas Campbell, who faces 11 counts—including two counts of murder—against him for Ciara Campbell’s death. She has also agreed to testify in court on behalf of the prosecution during that state’s trial against Nicholas Campbell.

From March:

Nicholas Charles Campbell, 28, received a life sentence after pleading guilty to felony murder, first-degree cruelty to children and methamphetamine possession in Cherokee County Superior Court. Fourteen other charges - including malice murder - were dropped in exchange for the guilty plea.

Campbell would have to serve 30 years before being eligible to be considered for parole.
