This death occurred sometime in Dec 2014, or Jan or Feb 2015 in Hannibal MO.

"A man allegedly told Hannibal investigators he “snapped” before shooting his elderly father in the head and chest with a crossbow, killing him, and stashing his lifeless body in the deep freezer of a home on Broadway."
"Carl S. Goldberg, 30, of Las Vegas, Nev., was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action on Monday, Jan. 11, following his arrest in October as a prime suspect in Carl Maxwell's death."

Glad that Beam, Goldberg's acquaintance, contacted LE about his suspicions.
Sad, sad, sad.

I think it was a home inspector possibly hired by the bank after a foreclosure, who was at the house to give the bank a report on the condition of the house who looked into the freezer and found the victim. The power had been turned off the week before for nonpayment. Poor planning on the part of another criminal.

Las Vegas man pleads guilty in connection with father's crowsbow death

Carl S. Goldberg, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder Wednesday. He was set to go to trial next week on the charge in Monroe County Circuit Court.

He is accused of killing Carl Maxwell, 84, in February 2015 and placing the body in a freezer. Maxwell's body was found by an employee with On-Time Inspection and Repair Oct. 6, 2015, in a vacant residence at 2034 Broadway.

Goldberg will be sentenced May 10.

“I’m asking the judge for the maximum sentence allowed for murder second, which is a life sentence,” Clayton said. “I intend to present evidence of how the murder was committed and what the defendant did to conceal his crime. The victim was estranged from all family members, neither the defendant nor the victim were from the area, and no one has expressed an interest in participating in the process. My recommendation for a trial verdict is for life and it is no less for this guilty plea.”

Crossbow killer sentenced to life in prison
The man who pleaded guilty to shooting his father twice with a crossbow and stashing the body in a Hannibal home’s freezer in 2015 will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Carl S. Goldberg, 32, received the maximum sentence of life imprisonment after entering an open guilty plea on Feb. 28 to the charge of second-degree murder in the killing of his father, Carl Maxwell.
