Celine Dion 's Las Vegas residency is being put on hold.

Following the devastating news of her husband René Angélil 's death , Caesar's Palace Hotel and Casino announced on their website that this weekend's shows have been canceled.

"With heavy hearts, we regret to inform you that Celine performances Saturday, Jan. 16 and Sunday, Jan. 17 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been cancelled. Celine Dion 's brother, Daniel Dion, is dying of cancer, multiple reports say, days after the singer lost her husband to the disease.

René Angélil, who was married to Celine, 47, for more than 20 years and was the father of their three children, died on Thursday at age 73 after a long battle with throat cancer.

The Canadian singer's rep confirmed to multiple outlets on Saturday that Daniel, 59, one of Celine's 13 siblings, was battling cancer and does not have long to live...

I like her. I think she is talented and I think that she loves her family dearly. I am sorry for her loss. I can not imagine losing my husband. It has to feel overwhelming and now her brother too??

I will always be a classic rock fanatic............. but I love Celine Dion's music, seen her in concert, David Bowie too. I think Celine and Rene had a true love story, he believed in her talent......... and fell in love. And her brother now, too. She seems very strong, her kids will help her and she'll help them. Bless you and your family, Celine, Your light will go................ on because of Rene. RIP
 
Wasn't he her manager when she was a teenager? And they they formalized their relationship when she hit 18 or 19?

I'm sorry, but I can only find that to be creepy. I doubt we'd have a thread of condolences like this if we were talking about a teacher and a student.

The church, where Celine and René wed in 1994, is located in Old Montreal

A national funeral for Angélil will be held Friday at the basilica and will be televised

I think she looks ill, didn’t she have anorexia at one point? I really hope it hasn’t reoccurred. Just my opinion but she looks poorly. Poor lady.
